I just read the post about wedding pics for the non-disney brides, and I realized I should post what I've found out too.

We are doing our ceremony at Discovery Cove, but beforehand (not after cause we'll be all wet!) we are having a private dining experience at the GF (just us and our kids)- they are doing a vow renewal cake for us, breakfast, and MICKEY is coming. The cost of characters is 800 a piece- no deals on multiples, and ofcourse they are not in wedding attire. There are private venues you can use- we are doing a terrace, but someone on the phone also told me about convention rooms and having characters at that too. I have NO idea what that costs. But for private dining it's the cost of the food, which is pretty reasonable for disney, and then I think it's75 or80 dollars in the private butler fee. I'm not sure what they have for more people, but for small parties like us, it's just fantastic. We couldn't be happier, and the GF people have been very, very helpful.

Thank you for sharing!:goodvibes

I am very interested in hearing about your Discovery Cove ceremony-I didn't realize they offered this! Do you have a PJ? Would you mind sharing the cost and what they offer?

Thanks!:goodvibes

Hi! We didn't know about DC either, but when I was looking for something close to disney, I called everywhere, and this was my favorite spot for us- total opposite of our outdoor elopement in the snow on christmas eve!

Well, I'm not sure how it'd be if you had guests more than a couple of people (it's just us and our kids doing a VR- no officiant- they are allowing our photographer to come for the ceremony and pictures though). They don't 'do' weddings, but they will allow it, sorta like how they handle wedding proposals. But for a VR with no officiant, it's really not any trouble to them at all. They were really nice to us so far!

The expense comes if you have a lot of people- it's expensive to get in (I think the cheapest is nearly 200$?), and I suspect they wouldn't let you do a ceremony that would be more people than would fit in a cabana. I do have a PJ though if you want to check it out- http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2079237

We went through quite a process trying to decide what to do, but we're really happy with how it's turned out so far!! We are especially excited that we have mickey mouse and a dolphin as our guests! :yay:
