Alright Obama, wrap it up!

No, the subprime morgage market that encouraged lending to unqualified individuals who purchased homes they couldn't afford at massively inflated prices only to have the delicate balance of their finances tipped by the rapidly increasing fuel costs of last winter/spring caused this crisis...but why quibble over details.

The end result is a expanding government taking from those that have and giving it to those who don't.

But that's another discussion.

I LOVE YOU! I have been screaming that at the top of my lungs for MONTHS! Why can't people understand that ?

Just like, if every media outlet in the universe stopped screaming :scared1: DEPRESSION and RECESSION every other moment, we WOULDN'T BE IN ONE!

(can you tell that this irks me?) :headache:

Gosh, I thought it was so nice to see a president who can answer a question in more than one word, and without a smug knowitall look on his face. Maybe people have just been used to seeing a 3rd grade answer for 8 years that anything longer gets hard to get use to.

So you really thought he gave answers to the questions? I am not an Obama basher, but you need to check the transcript. He didn't answer the questions (not even the one about ARod).

He did what all politicians try to do when asked tough questions - divert and "dazzle". But he was no Bill Clinton or Ronald Reagan. His answers were decidedly uninspiring...

If Ronald Regan rose from the dead and was President again, I'd be thrilled beyond belief.

But if he was on television cutting into my 24, I'd be pissed off with him, too. Especially if he was talking about flippin Elkhart.

Charlie (or do we call him Charles now?) Gibson apparently agrees with you. He was interviewed on WJR (Detroit) this a.m. and he was pretty critical of Obama's performance last night. Shocking! ;)

Gibson called it "embarrassing" and indicated he thought the president's staffers were probably not pleased with the way Obama handled his first press conference. Typically, a president will answer somewhere around 44 questions and last night only around 23 or 24 were fielded. Charlie did say he felt it was simply "inexperience" on the part of the prez and felt he would get better with more practice. :thumbsup2 One can only hope. . .

Hold on there... I'm pretty sure I heard/read Obama supporters praise the fact that he was such a good speaker and could really think on his feet.

:rotfl2:

I tell ya', I was shocked! A prominent news anchor thinking there was room for improvement. . .who would have thunk (poor grammar intended :) -- I'm just folks. . .) it?

From my own perspective, I was not impressed with last night's "performance" either. I was rather surprised to see so many glowing commentaries on here today--I didn't hear a lot of answers, just a lot of words. :rolleyes1

I was so looking forward to Pres Obama speaking last night, because I was really beginning to have "hope". But I cringed all the way through it. I was embarrassed for him. He's usually a great speaker, but this proves that he really doesn't have any answers, just went on and on without answering the questions. Being an orator can't save you if you don't know what you're talking about to people who asked great questions.

Why can't he be like Morgan Freeman playing the president in Deep Impact...I know it's just a movie, but I'd love a president like that, who speaks plainly, truthfully and to the point.

I think Pres Obama is so used to pep-rallying that he doesn't know how to address the issues properly.

Whoa there. Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O have the word 'bloviate' and its forms copyrighted. I'm pretty sure they didn't give you the right to use the word about anyone else. :lmao:

I'm from the school "use a word three times and it's yours", and I've NEVER heard Rush or Sean use the word bloviate.:)
