Alright, confession time. Have you ever used Cliffnotes for school?

Have you ever used CliffNotes to help with novels in school?

I have. I used it for Julius Caesar and for The Lord of the Flies. My reasoning (ahem excuses ) were that 1) I don't understand Old English at all! (I firmly believe Old English is another language in itself) and 2) I simply didn't have the time to read TLOTF. Flame me, call me a cheat, whatevz. I wasn't in school, still on homebound, and school was almost over.

I used it in the 7th grade for the hobbit.
I could not keep up with that book.
I think I gave up after chpater 5 or 6.

I used cliffnotes for wuthering heights too, I read the book..but I could not understand half of it, haha.

My English teacher tells us that he has no objection to supplementary material.

Now, the only book that I stopped reading and just used SparkNotes on was Wuthering Heights. That book killed me.

I didn't use cliffnotes but I used sparknotes and thats pretty much how I got through high school english (cause like we have nothing better to do than read a gazillion novels on top of everything else)

i haven't but i did use sparknotes for some of my other subjects. they have great study notes.

I'm a fast reader, so I usually finish a book before the rest of my class.

I've used sparknotes to help me write poems about characters and for a few parts in character analysis.

Or reading Romeo and Juliet in modern terms.

though i probably should have for huck fin. i just flat out didn't read that one. i made a 70 on the test by guessing, so thats good enough i suppose. i made a 100 that marking period anyway. so its whatever.

I have used Sparknotes too its not that I dont like to read or anything but when you have to read three novels at one time somethings got to give.

In High School, I would read the first chapter and if I liked the book I'd just finish it that night. If I didn't like it, I could never convince myself to read it, so I just sparknoted it usually.

Wuthering Heights? Really? I didn't have a problem reading it.

I'll probably be using it for Julius Caeser this semester. Last semester we did R+J, pretty easy to understand.
The problem this semester is I have a different teacher who doesn't believe in reading it out loud (it's a play, it should be read IMHO), so my understanding maybe be jumbled a bit, so I'll be relying heavily on any extra material I can get.

I've used it to study and when I can only find the time to finish half of the assigned reading before it's due. I usually go back and read the parts I sparknoted though, because it leaves things out.

That's a rather small book.
I haven't attempted to read it, but I'm sure I could get through it just find, based on the sheer size alone xD
