We already paid for our DD's ticket on her birthday (package deal). Can she get anything else in place of the "birthday free park ticket"? I know I could do some research and find the answer elsewhere but this site is soooo helpful.:thumbsup2

Yes. There are three choices:

1) A one-day base ticket to use on any other day (in 2009, I think)
2) A gift card in the amount of a 1-day base ticket (without tax)
3) A "birthday fastpass" which allow up to six park passes to be linked to it and will give "free" fastpasses, usable immediately, to a selection of rides in that park.

See here for more details.

Does anyone know what 'a selection of rides means'? Is it all the rides with Fastpass, is it only usable once per ride, or is it like staying on property at Universal? Our party has 2 birthdays during our upcoming trip and want to know what our best use would be.

My hubby will celebrate his b'day while we are there and we have opted for the gift card. I'm not 100% sure but I'm thinking when we went through the process of doing the gift card thing it told on the website what rides were on the fast pass along w/restrictions. For us is seemed to be better to get the gift card since you can get a fast pass anyway with your ticket and there are 11 of us going.

I included the link so it can be looked up. In short, it's four different rides, 2 each of two different tiers, only valid at the park it is issued. The top tier would have the headliners (e.g., Soarin', Test Track, and Mission:Space at Epcot) while the second tier would be the non-headliner fastpass rides (Living With The Land, Malestorm).

Thanks. I did not see the link in your first post. That helps. I guess the gift card ends up being the best for our circumstances. And since we are going in Sept. and I don't mind running for FPs we should be good.

Don't forget your proof of birthday (not just plain photocopies of birth certificates) and your 2-day or more admission ticket in hand in order to choose the birthday gift card or birthday fast pass card.

If you do choose the fast pass card, you might want to wait until later in the day to use it since you can still use your regular ticket for fast passes. Also the birthday fast passes can be used immediately and you do not have to wait 2 hours for the next one and furthermore you can get them even when fastpasses are sold out for regular guests.

The "any other day" birthday ticket is not upgradable and can be used on one of the 364 days after your birthday when you got it. Exception, if you failed to show proof of birthday, this is the only gift you can choose and it is then good on one of the next 90 days and then you need to show proof you got it on your birthday.
