 I've always wanted to try concierge - now's my chance. However, I already have all my PS's and itinerary planned. Please convince me that I'm not wasting money by staying at the concierge level as opposed to staying in a regular WL courtyard view? Thanks!

Hi! I have never stayed at WL concierge, only AKL concierge. I can only relate my experience. We didn't need for concierge to make any plans for us. I like to do that, myself. We were staying there simply to celebrate our 10th anniversary.
We were sent a gift from the concierge staff and chocolate strawberries and champagne from the AKL. We felt so pampered... In the lounge the staff members refilled our wine glasses with genuine pleasure and provided very interesting conversations. The African CM, Thabo (if I remember correctly. It's been a looong year... ), sat and chatted with our family for at least half an hour. It was just heavenly. Now, I'm a homemaker. I'm used to picking up after the boys, doing the laundry, paying the billls, etc., etc. You get the idea. For me, concierge was just wonderful. DH, my boys, and I felt so taken care of and cared about for those few days. It was definitely worth it to us!

In May my DW and I stayed at WL concierge for our 25th anniversary. Before arriving, I made sure to note this with the concierge staff and planned most of our PS.

Randall -- one of the WL concierge -- took care of us like royalty. He checked all our PS when we checked in. He helped arrange a special spa treatment for my DW. When we had last minute changes of heart about where to eat, he took care of it in a flash.

He also sent a huge bowl of strawberries and fresh whipped cream to our room one evening. He learned that I am an fanatical pin collector and he gave me a special CM lanyard pin.

All the concierge staff were terrific! They made sure the snacks and beverages were always out. They greeted us by name (which is amazing to me because I can easily forget my DW's name!!).

For us it was a terrific vacation and a truly magical experience!

Just a quick observation about concierge. I had the concierge staff take care of all my ps's. They are great for getting those hard to get one's like Cindy's breakfast. I was nosy on this past trip that we took. When we checked in with the hostess at one of our ps's, I peeked at her monitor when she pulled our names up. I noticed under comments, that we were listed as VIP's. And I thought it was my winning smile that got us prompt seating and great tables ;)

We were introduced to concierge service a few years ago and I'm not ashamed to say how truly spoiled I have become. There are numerous horror stories on GF's RPC, but that's where we've stayed and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I say go for it, just fax down your existing itinerary, complete with confirmation numbers to the concierge pre-planner. That way, they can go in and update that comment field!!

Enjoy,
Tammi
