Just wondering if any of you Disboard photographers have done alphabet photo art or ever heard of it? Just curious because I think it would be really cool if someone would do this using things they find around Disney World. I'm a horrible photographer but may try and attempt it on my next trip. I saw at a recent local craft/art show someone had a Disney D in one of his framed alphabet art. Got me thinking it would be cool to have my boys names done up in disney letters found through out Disney property. I think a mix of architectual letters and actual single letters from signs would be really cool.

Here's a link to an example of what I'm talking about if anyone is interested.

I tried google and etsy in hopes that someone had already thought of this idea but no luck.

Thanks in advance for reading my post! :wizard:

check flickr, you can probably find ideas there.

I would certainly like to try that around home but couldn't even imagine taking that much time away from a Disney vacation. I can just imagine DD and DW's reaction to me saying "I have to get that G shape!".

Howdy! Funny you should mention that. That's what I do. I am a photographer and I have a part of my business called The Alphabet Project.

I have a trip booked in 4 weeks specifally to take letter photos. I have a client who asked for DIsney letters and since I dont have any.....well what else was I supposed to do?!?! HAHAHAHA I don't if I'm allowed to post my website on here, so if you want to see my work you'll have to private message me. I'm also on etsy.

There are several Alphabet Photgraphers. We are all different...just like regular photgraphers. Wihtouht being arrogant or rude, it is my opinion that I am better at it than most. Before I was an alphabet photographer, I was a photographer. So I use my skills for that to photograph "letters" I am VERY picky about what I use for letters. I have seen some who will photograph a light pole for an I but in the background there are cars. It's very disctracting. If you can't tell what a letter is I don't photograph it. I also have a rule that I don't rotate anything more then 90 degrees. For example...I won't use an M for a W unless it can be photographed in a different way. I also don't use lower case d's for lower case b's and vice versa... That's what makes me different. I take great pride in my work. Aside from the actual phtographing the letters, my choice of procuct is huge! I offer things that others don't.

I'm going to the junk yard tomorrow to look for letters. I spend alot of time searching but I love it! I am super excited about my DIsney trip and looking for letters. I can't wait to spell stuf with what I find :yay:

I think that great and know I know why your secert is:rotfl2:. I love this idea because I teach Pre-K. We will be staying at POP for the first two nights and then going to the hotel by Downtown Disney. What time are you getting in on Thursday? Would you PM me with your website so I can see your work.

Hey! I will be happy to PM you. :) I actually have letters taken in a Kindergarten classroom that I spelled Kindergarten with. Next weekend I'm going to another school to do other grades. Im looking forward to it! I'm hope that by the end of the school year I will have every grade up through 6th.

We are not leaving until I get off work Thursday evening so when we get to Disney it will be about 2am. I'd rather get there late then leave on Friday and lose time at the parks. :thumbsup2

It's funny that you should mention this. A friend sent me to a site a few months ago to look at alphabet prints and I thought it was great.

I'm planning on a couple of local theme park trips with the new camera to do this, but hadn't considered just doing a Disney alphabet. What a cool way to spend time around the resorts and parks!

Perhaps there's an Alphabet thread in this board's future?

I only have 4 weeks left until my trip... I'm super excited. I went to a local junk farm today....its over 45 acres...and I took over 300 letter photos. So I'm hoping I can get alot at Disney. :thumbsup2

I take special trips to local spots and get letters to spell where I went and I LOVE to do that!

I just found this thread but I have been selling these for about 4 years now at the Celebration, FL farmers market and I have a website. I know I can't post it, but if you use the name of my business that is in my title in a search engine, I'm sure you will be able to find it. I am still adding letters and actually just visited the Wilderness Lodge today to add some new images to my gallery. I hope you all like my work!! :)

I tried doing this a couple of years ago at the beach. It's much harder than it looks! It sounds like a great idea to keep things fresh at Disney if you already have a million shots of the castle (not that I don't always take shot # 1,000,001 too...)
