I asked on the Orlando boards but didn't get any answers so thought i'd come right to the horses mouth so to speak.:rotfl:

Anyone used this site lately? Any problems? Anything to be leery of? I've found a great rate on there but am hesitant to book. Who can make me feel better about going thru w/this?

Used them a lot, last time was Oct. got cashback thru Quidco also.
THey are based near me, about 20 miles or so away in Sheffield.
Found them a bit expensive this year but been great in the past.
If you post dates, hotel and price you have I will have a look around for a better price if you want, I can usually find cheaper but not always.

I'll take you up on that thanks!! June 20-24 we were looking at booking the 3 bedroom at Cypress Pointe resort. We are a family of 2 adults 3 kids and I was getting a quote of $320 US for 4 nights.

We have used Alpha Rooms a lot both in US and Europe. We now use Travel Republic, they are cheaper. We have had no problems with any of the hotels we have booked through them.

PM sent.:thumbsup2

We have used alpha before and were happy with they apart from the only problem we had was the fact the company we had to collect the paperwork/ keys for the condo had moved to a new location and we hadn't been informed. We did have an emergency contact number and sorted it out very quickly but it didn't help after a ten hour flight delay.

Ok all, I went ahead and booked Cypress Pointe with Alpha rooms in March. Paid in full got all my papers thru email. We are scheduled to stay here after our cruise on 6/20-6/24. Yesterday I called Cypress Pointe to confirm that they had my reservation. They did not and told me I had to contact Alpha Rooms. I sent Alpha Rooms an email but as I'm in the states and it was afternoon I"m thinking they didn't get it till today and still no answer. What do you all think? If I don't have anything by the morning I"m planning on calling. Is there any specific person you all work with that you can recommend I ask for? Do you think this situation is common? Should Cypress Pointe be able to see a ressie for me at this point? Thanks for any and all help, I'm a little nervous here.

Can't remember who Alpharooms buy their rooms through. I know for example great4hotels.com & hotelopia.co.uk buy rooms thru hotelbeds.com who are one of the main room wholesalers. It is possible your reservation is in the name of the wholesaler not yours or Alpharooms.
As I posted before I have had no problems with them but I have never rung the hotel to check my reservation, just assumed everything would be OK at checkin and it was every time.
Give them a ring if they don't reply to email.

Thanks for that info hopefully thats it. I did email Cypress Pointe and included a copy of my receipt so maybe they can get some info off there to help them locate it. I don't think my first email to Alpha Rooms went thru as when I did it again last night I got an auto reply I didn't get the first time. I'll sit tight till Monday and see who gets back to me first, but at least I feel a little better thinking it maybe under another name then Alpharooms I didn't know that and was starting to sweat a little.

I booked through Alpharooms last year staying at Cypress point resort and there were no problems at all, I have booked with them this year for the same place, I have also read on this site that people who booked through Hotel kingdom often find that when they contact the hotels directly to check the booking nothing shows up until closer to the arrival date. I've never had any problems with either company.

Thank you for that! Cypress Pointe emailed me back and said they have a reservation for me:woohoo:

Nice to hear you got your email to put your mind at rest, you will have a great time at cypress point, I was only looking for a 2 bedroom place there, couldn't find any at a reasonable price so ended up booking the 3 bed for just a little more than the 1 bed lock-off, there's only 3 of us going so were going to have loads of room, might even sub-let the lock-off part :lmao:
