I don't know if this will apply to anyone here but we cleaned out our garage & barn and sold all the scrap metal. We were going to pitch it but the scrap people came in, gave us a price, loaded it all (so no dump fees). It was old engines, motors, metal fence posts, rusty feeders, equipment & waterers, primarily junk. I guess you have to live on a farm to accumulate stuff like that in your barn that no one ever goes into anymore. We inherited the farm, built a house on the property and rented out the land so we had no clue.
$10,000 later, we are happy!
The scrap people looked at us like we had gold!
Next, people on Craigs List are buying old barn siding and they will tear down a 120 year old barn and pay you to do it.
Hope this helps somebody!
