How do you handle alone time with DH/DW with everyone in one room??? We always go to the beach and have at least 2 bedrooms on vacation. We look forward to 'our' time, especially on vacation. We will be there for a week. (That's a LONG time) ;) or will we be so dead tired that is the last thing on our minds?

Last thing on your mind. Make up for lost time when you get home. ;)

that's what I figured. The DKs have a pirate adventure booked at our resort, but I don't know if I would feel comfortable leaving the marina while they were out. AND I'm sure mousekeeping would be terribly interrupting during the 9-11:30 am timeframe.

You can always put the Privacy Please tag in the door.;)And flip the little latch that keeps the door from opening, even when a key is used.

Or maybe look at staying in a family suite at either the All Star Music or AoA. That way the adults would have a bedroom with a door.:)

Did not realize there were family suites. We'll have to check into that next time. We leave next Saturday!

For us, dead tired, last thing on our minds. And our kids are usually awake later than we are anyway.

if you're desperate, the bathroom door has a lock on it. ;)

My parents always just took showers together. Never thought anything of it until I had my own kid, then it was like 'oooooh, now I get it!'

Have you every been to Disney? Enjoy the time with your kids.

I went as a child, but we never stayed on property or went anywhere but MK.

Actually I remember spending more time at timeshare information sessions just to get disney dollars so that we could afford that one day in MK. So it's almost like a first for me and def a first time for DH and my oldest 2 kids (6&5).

You get two rooms... :confused3

For the shower people - the walls are very thin between the rooms, just to let you know. As in, you can hear people in the other bathroom thin.

I'm laughing, because when I approached DH about adding on more DVC points, this was the main reason he agreed. So that we could have more space and more "privacy" when we go to WDW. The dream lives on! Lol!

This is why we're not staying on-site. On top of the "alone time" issue, if we share one hotel room, our son won't fall asleep if we're up. We get stuck sitting in the dark in silence until he is sound asleep, then we can whisper and watch YouTube on someone's phone while sharing a pair of headphones. Yay! My DH refuses to book a regular hotel room for vacations anymore, only if we'll be somewhere for 1 night or it's unavoidable.

I would take my chances on the bathroom this time, and book a timeshare or condo next time.

We are always too tired to even think about it.

Yep these two things. I actually find family vacations to be a turn off. Ugh get out of my space, I know I'm not the only person who feels this way. And before anyone fires back, i do love my family & DH. we normally do not spend 24 hours a day with each other like we do on vacation

I actually thought this thread was from a like minded person (to me) asking how do you carve out alone time for yourself?

but it's cute that you are asking ;) have a great trip! W or without alone time :rotfl2:
