When are you going? Did you book club level?

I wish...no we are going value season in Aug. even this will be tricky for us to afford, but I think I can pull it off.

this is going to be a surprise to my whole family, even DH :lmao:

we are doing a split stay POR for 9 nights free dining bounceback & 6 nights at the POLY:wizard::wizard::wizard:

losing the free dining will be tricky for us but I think I can manage if I make all the cheapest ADR's on the tail end of our trip...sci fi, CP,...

Just got the Summer discount and saved almost $400 on my AAA reservation. I can't wait to go, this will be our first visit to the Poly, Garden View.

I don't know which Longhouse to request. I would really love to have a balcony. I have mobility issues, but I will have a scooter. My DD and two grandchildren would be with us. Suggestions.

Two weeks from today we check into the Polynesian! Just added a request for the first floor this morning. I can't wait!:cool1:

BreezysMom, I hope you get that last minute trip!

I did the on-line check in but did not see anything about requesting?
There were a couple of options (preprinted) like near transportation, etc....is this what you are referring too? I did not see anywhere to type special request in during on-line checkin (?)
I know we will love it but was just wondering - did you call to add such a request?
Thx.

If you have a specific request you would like to make (balcony, building, floor, etc.) it is best to call up Disney and speak with a CM who can add your request to your reservation.

Do you know if there's a recipe for the punch that they serve in the CL lounge? I don't even remember the name of it so I've been having a hard time searching for it.

Here you go! Enjoy :dance3: I have made it a few times but cut the recipie for smaller gathering. It was a huge hit over the holidays.

I think a split-stay is a great way to try out a new resort (and much less $$$ than 15 days at the Poly! ;)). We find that there are lots of meals with so much food that we can split them, too. I think if you plan it right you won't really miss the free dining. :goodvibes Congrats on booking your first Poly stay.:)

I saw another recipe on tikiman's site--I wonder which one they use for sure. I was checking because we need to be gluten free and wanted to make sure of the ingredients before enjoying. Sounds devine and both recipes look safe.

What's the best way to get to the BC or Boardwalk area from the Poly? Is it easier to take the monorail over to Epcot and walk over, or should you take the bus?

Thanks! :)

The monorail will take you to the front gate of Epcot, and to get to bw area, you need to walk through Epcot. This will cost you park admission, and it's a pretty long walk, so it's really only good to do it this way if you are planning on doing Epcot that day.

We like taking the monorail or boat to MK and grabbing the BWI/BC/YC bus from there (sometimes it's the same bus, sometimes separate).

Is it easy to get to the Swan from the POLY?
Since I will have to POP for some meals, usually I am on FD...I am thinking of the Garden Grove character meal.

what do you think?

now this new Summer Nightastic, will we be able to see the fireworks from the POLY beach and will it be as nice as Wishes?

They are the same recipie essentially. He just combined the concentrate drink portion.

I received the copy of the recipie that you see from the CL lounge staff. :thumbsup2

Well, I think we've made our decision!

:cheer2:POLY CL!!!! YAYYYY!!!:cheer2:

DH said he's doing our taxes this weekend, and once he finishes, I can book the room! YES!

I hope it will be available when I call! If not, back to square one!

Ohhhhh....I am so jealous! Have a great trip :wizard:

Looks like water park weekend for us. I think I will put some Poly music in my ipod, get myself a cocktail and sit in the chlorine smell filled room and pretend I am sitting at the Volcano pool. :beach:

Thanks.:goodvibes

Your getaway sounds fun, too. Love the ipod, etc..:rotfl: You'll be making family memories and that's what counts.:grouphug:

Just my two cents but with a scooter I would request first floor. Other than in Hawaii, the elevators in the original longhouses are rather small and unless you're accustomed to a scooter it could be tough. The first floor views are so lovely. I always feel immersed in the beauty of the landscaping. The patios are quite large compared to most resorts.

If you really want a balcony, then I would request a room with one in the newer buildings as the elevators are a bit roomier. However, those longhouses are the farthest from the GCH.

Yes, that's just what I did. Called Disney Reservation Center and added my request for a first floor room.:cool1:

Thanks, can't wait. It will be so good to get back to the Polynesian and away from this weather. 7 degrees here this morning when I walked our dog. Brrr!

To get to the Swan, you need to use a park as a transfer point. Hop over to the MK and bus to the Swan. Or take a bus to DHS and walk or boat to the Swan. The buses run earlier than the boats at DHS though.
considering that hassle, I'd book a character meal around the monorail loop or in the MK and save a few dollars on a different meal. Happy planning!

Anyone have any Hawaii GV room view photos? With the GV rooms, would you recommend I request a 3rd floor balcony, or the ground level.

The only reason why I would like to make a request for a balcony or patio is just in case DD and DS take a nap mid-day..that way DH and I can sit outside and not have to whisper the whole time in the room! LOL!

Here is 3rd floor Hawaii. We were a little closer to the opposite end of the lounge, I think 3523 if I remember correctly. It was a nice location. The pool looked pretty in the evening. It was quiet and tranquil. It was also nice to come in the back side of the building when heading back from the TTC. I also liked that the third floor lounge was down the hall with an extra bathroom and tables, chairs and a TV for extra "space" for hanging out :thumbsup2

WOW, a blizzard here and then we had an earthquake :confused3

I have just about had enough of winter in Chicago? It will be a long 9+ months!

DD has a long weekend off from school, and DH and I were joking about jumping a plane for this weekend for a spontaneous trip. I think I will look into it and get some numbers and see if he is serious? I'll let you know ;)

I know what you mean it is still snowing in the mountains outside of Pittsburgh. We have gotten about another 10-12 inches on top of our 28 :scared1:We'll know how much when DH starts shoveling today. Kids have had whole week out and tomorrow is a professional day for the teachers. In some ways it has been a big blessing for our very busy household. DH has great job that paid for days the closed :worship: But it is a mess. Running very low on oil, tires on van need to be repalced and we are waiting on the special order (why van tires special order I dont know :confused3) so it runs bad in the snow right now.

At least we didn't get a earthquake;) Stay safe everyone. Those of you comming-going to Poly keep posting its keeping me warm in my thoughts!:thumbsup2

We've had about 4 inches of snow already today and I'm spending the day reading about WDW and looking at Poly pictures. With the discount extended yesterday, I was able to apply it to our existing CL reservation and saved about $1600! And I booked our airfare yesterday and we added a day to the beginning of our trip to get the lowest fare.

With all the announcements last night about the MSEP, the new fireworks show, the new ToT sequence and effects, a special finale for Illuminations and something about AK nights, I wonder what else WDW has up their sleeve for the summer.:goodvibes I guess they are worried about Harry Potter.
