Seaspray .... we're there until the 8th ... so hopefully we'll get to meet ...

we're usually in the CL lounge every morning ... and by the pool in the afternoons.

It'll be myself, hubbie, and three kids (14, 13, 11) .... we're all getting soooooo excited ... the suitcases are out of the closet ... now I've got to begin packing:yay:

We're there until the 10th. The 8th is our actual wedding anniversay! We'll be a group of 5: myself, husband, son 22, son 19, son 19's girlfriend. If you notice the pics in my countdown timer, you can see what we look like. LOL :3dglasses

I plan to be by the pool in the afternoons, too. :sunny:

Best wishes to all those at or leaving for the Poly!!!! And thank you for the awesome pictures. I just made my final payment for our trip in August and it was so nice to log in to see all the pictures of the Poly this morning!!!

Oh, I can't wait to get there and see it for myself :cool1::cool1:

We are 4 days away from our first stay at Poly!!! I'm sooo excited I can hardly sit still. Hubby and I are planning on bringing those via packets from Starbucks, and I noticed at the beginning of this thread that microwaves are available upon request. Will it be okay to wait until we check-in to request one for our room? Thanks!

I like both, but if I had to choose, I'd go with breakfast. I really enjoy the blueberry pancakes. And others rave about the macadamia nut pancakes and Tonga toast. The liliokoi juice is a nice change from regular OJ. Kona press pot coffee is nice also.

Either way, I don't think you can go wrong. We have always had good experiences here.

You'll be there soon!! I'm getting excited too!

Mdrob .... we'll be there for the 4th, too!:banana::banana:

We arrive on the 29th.

We've been at the Poly for the 4th for the past several years. Usually, they have a ton of games for the kids at the pool. Hoola hoop dancing, bingo, wii, etc. They also have decorating things for the little ones ... like decorating a giant cookie for the holiday, coloring beach balls, painting tiki masks, etc.

Then, the best of all -- pie eating contest -- sometimes it's been chocolate cream pie (not that great in the heat) -- other years it's been watermelon eating contest ... i hope it's the later this year .... lol

Maybe we'll see you there ..:)

We arrive on the 5th, I can't believe it's getting so close now!!! :woohoo::yay::banana: I'd choose breakfast over lunch at the Kona! Although, we have ADRs for all 3 meals (different days of course), but we'll be having breakfast there at least twice. :cool2:

I'll be there in 2 weeks and 3 days! Hope to see some DISers there! :sunny:

LOVE the pics!! :thumbsup2 I hope you're having a great trip!!

Have a great time, Tess!!! :yay::cheer2:

Go with breakfast. Macadamia pancakes are to die for!!!!:lovestruc Will be moving from BIV to BLT on Monday, Aug. 16th, but have made reservations for breakfast in between ... got to have those pancakes! :tink:

Thanks, everyone--breakfast it is! That's what my ADR is for so tht even saves me some work.

Ah, you must have photoshopped out the rats and snakes! :lmao::lmao:

I tossed a Dole Whip in the bushes so they'd chase it and get out of the picture. :rotfl:

Thanks, everyone, for the compliments on the photos. We're headed to the Poly tonight for dinner at Kona Cafe. Will take more photos and will knock back a Lapu Lapu as well. :goodvibes

Hi! Does anyone have a recent room service menu? The one on All Ears is from 2009 I think and it seems very limited. Can anyone tell me what dinner items can be ordered from room service? Thank you!

My mother asked my 5 year old DD what she wanted to see first after we checked into the Poly... "The Hall of Presidents, of course NaNa!"

My bet is she takes one look at that pool and Abe and George will have to wait...

We requested 3rd floor as our most important request, preferably Samoa or Fiji. Can't wait to see where we end up! You?

We found out that my DH has orders to Osan AFB, in South Korea for a year. So, he upgraded us to CL. We will be in Hawaii. Which I am super excited about. It's going to be a bittersweet trip. He leaves in November, right before dd's 5th b-day:sad1:

Whoa. This is major news for me. The Poly loop is my happy music and I think I may be addicted to it. Is the new loop similar in feel, if that makes sense? I really hope it's got that same happy/relaxing/traditional vibe. :goodvibes

Ms.Stinkerbelle - We go the the Ambler Theater from time to time-- fun to "meet" a DISneighbor! :thumbsup2

Anyone have a sample yet of new music????

Y'all will love CL and the location of the Hawaii Longhouse!!! What a nice thing for your DH to do for you!

We're baaaaaack! :rotfl:

Here's the situation...me, DH and DS13 planned our trip to the World this August along with a 5-night DCL cruise. We booked 5 nights before the cruise at YC since DS loves SAB. Normally we do a split stay at one of the monorail resorts (Poly being our favorite) but we thought we'd do something different (non-Disney :scared1:) for the rest of our vacation. Well, we've been trying to find something we all want to do but nothing has thrilled us. And now with the oil spill situation we are more worried than ever. Soooo...yesterday DH said, "let's do back-to-back cruises". We checked DCL and booked a 4 night right after our 5 night cruise. That leaves us three nights before our flight home. DH said, "Poly. No-brainer.".:banana:

I'm so happy since I knew I'd miss the Poly on this trip. I've re-subscribed to the thread. I need to go back and see what I've missed since last August. I read something about a new music track. DH will be happy. As much as we love the music, with a ground floor room it does start to get to you after a while.

So happy to be coming home! :cloud9:

Welcome back! That sounds like a great vacation!

Congrats on your upgrade! As a military wife, I can totally understand how you're feeling about the bittersweet. Tell you DH thanks for serving!

I know I've posted something like this before, but I can't find it now. I'm compiling a list of yummy tropical beverages to enjoy poolside.
There's a Pina Colava, Lapu Lapu, and what else? Anyone have pics of these yummy drinks? I'll be there in exactly 2 weeks and the plan is to enjoy at least one adult beverage per day. ;) I don't partake much any other time, but I like to relax a bit on vacation. Also, can they do virgin Lapu lapu and Pina Colava? I just know my kids will want to try, too.

I have a vacation booked for end of September, beginning of October and we will be staying at the Polynesian. We booked club level and we will have 4 adults and a child - grandmother, parents, child. Does anyone have tips for making it easier with 4 adults in the room? Also does anyone know if they still do the ladybug release program? Finally, can someone tell me about some of the free/cheap activities around the resort for children (i.e hula lessons, etc)?
