I am no where near ready for our trip but the clock is ticking! We are getting soooo excited.:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Breakfast with Lilo and Stitch in 3 weeks! Yay!

Has anyone rented the pontoon boat? We like the idea of the sea racers but with 3 kids we couldn't all go together.

We will be at the Poly in 33 days ! Does anyone know how much time it takes to get to the resort using ME ? I guessed about an hour and a half, am I right ?

We've rented both the Whaler and the pontoon boat. They are very slow, but really pleasant for sightseeing. The pontoon boat has a lot of seating, and is easy to handle. I'd rent that again just for the nice pleasant trip around the lakes. :goodvibes

Yes you guessed it! That would be an extreme case but for planning purposes that would be the norm!

We never really had a problem with ME because of the excitement when we are on our way to our beautiful resort. Sitting on the bus seeing all the other excited kids with their sleepy eyes and happy smile! That makes it shorter ride for us!

Good Morning! :goodvibes

We will be staying in a TPV room (nothing else available). I have a few questions:
Are all of these rooms in the Hawaii building?
How far is the Hawaii longhouse from the main building and monorail to MK?
If you have a TPV do you also have a lagoon view? What about a balcony-That's a must for us?
If TPV rooms are in other longhouses which one would be the closest to the main building, have a balcony as well as a water view?
I'm hoping for that kind of money we can have those three things, but I know that nothing is quaranteed. Thanks!

Only the club level TPV rooms are in Hawaii. Otherwise the regular TPV rooms are in Tuvalu, Tahiti and Aotearoa. All TPV rooms overlook the lagoon with a full water view - the only difference between the two classes of rooms is that TPV guarantees you an unobstructed view of the castle.
The closest of the three longhouses mentioned above to the GCH would be Tuvalu, but none of them are that far.
Only Tahiti would guarantee you a patio or balcony (the second floor rooms in the others don't have balconies, just a "slider" that you can open). So if you are not booked club level, TPV, but standard TPV I would request Tahiti (if you want to be ensured a balcony). If you are booked club level you will be in Hawaii, which doesn't have balconies on the second floor. If you want a balcony request third floor.
Hope this helps!

Are all of these rooms in the Hawaii building?TPV CLUB LEVEL rooms are in Hawaii. TPV standard rooms are in Tahiti, Tuvalu and Aotearoa.
How far is the Hawaii longhouse from the main building and monorail to MK? 2-3 minute walk, but if you booked std. you won't be in Hawaii.
If you have a TPV do you also have a lagoon view? What about a balcony-That's a must for us? All TPV rooms are also lagoon view. The MK is across the lagoon from Poly, so you can't see MK without also seeing the lagoon. The difference between LV and TPV is that some rooms that view the lagoon have an obstructed view of the castle (tree(s) in the way); these are charged as LV instead of TPV. If you want a balcony, you must request one, not all TPV rooms have balconies. Tuvalu and Aotearoa do NOT have balconies on the 2nd floor. Tahiti has balconies on 2nd and 3rd floor. Some TPV rooms are also on the 1st floor, and these all have patios.
If TPV rooms are in other longhouses which one would be the closest to the main building, have a balcony as well as a water view? Aotearoa is closest to GCH (but set back from lagoon, so furthest view from castle), then Tuvalu. Tahiti is furthest from the GCH but has biggest rooms, double sinks, and is closest to the TTC.
I'm hoping for that kind of money we can have those three things, but I know that nothing is quaranteed. Thanks!

Enjoy your TPV! These are the best views in WDW IMO!!

maiapapaya and I posted at the same time! I just pulled out my map, and I agree that Tuvalu is JUST A LITTLE closer to GCH than Aotearoa. I had forgotten that Tonga is between GCH and Aotearoa, I had thought Aotearoa was adjacent to GCH. Anyway, they are both very close! And Tahiti is just a little further, afterall, the grounds are pretty compact. FYI, many have stated that they thought their rooms in Tahiti were way too far from GCH, though I personally have not found it far.

Next Sunday.
I can already smell the lobby.
That sounded weird, but honestly the Polynesian Lobby has this smell of magic.

I agree! I LOVE the smell of the Poly lobby. It's a combination of humid air, chlorine and plant fertilizer. Whenever we smell a well-landscaped yard with a pool after a rainstorm, we say "MMMMMMmmmmm, smells like the Poly!"

I'm starting to smell it now, myself!

Thanks to all of you who contribute. I've learned a tremendously from you through the last few months. I'm the dad who's organizing a family reunion at the Poly in late June for 7 adults (3 kids in 20's and 2 spouses + me/wife). First time at Poly. First time we'll all have been together in 3 years. We are blessed and excited.

Can the pontoons be rented after dark? Would be really cool to watch fireworks that way.

Thanks!:grouphug:

Congratulations on your grand, grand gathering!! What a way to spend your family reunion! Get away and be together when you want!

Sadly you cannot rent any watercraft after sundown. Disney is all about safety and with inexperienced boaters having the ability to rent boats they do not allow boats after dark.

You can look into a wishes cruise. They will captain the boat with wishes music piped in. They also offer snacks if you request it. I believe they allow up to twenty people at a time on each cruise.

Have any of you eaten breakfast at GF's 1900 Park Fare? We have an 8 am ADR at 1900 Park Fare. We are then planning to drive to AK, for the morning. Does it make more sense to take the monorail to/from Poly; walk to/from Poly or drive to GF. Read somewhere that the GF parking lot is far away, so not sure if it makes sense to drive only to park far away.

Also, if we want to take a boat to Hoop Dee Doo should we take it from CR or from MK?
