Can someone give me some more info on the Luau show?? What is the food like and the show itself? Would you recommend it? My dh and i are going in september for our anniversary  and i am just wondering if it is worth it.. I know it is at the Polynesian, oh yea, also what is the price like? TIA!!

well from what I have been told...the food is alright...the show is good but then it dies pretty quick and the dessert is terrible. Now I don't know if this is true or not, but we are going in September for our first time and we will generate our own opinion. The price I think is $50.00 per person or 2 table service credits if you are on the dinning plan. Ask away if you have any other questions.
BTW- the show is outdoors and if it's raining out the show will be cancelled.

What I remember....you are served at long tables in a multi-course style meal. The food was a polynesian sample type offering. Some of it was good, some I didn't care for due to personal taste...but the presentation and overall quality was what you might expect to see at an upper scale buffet place. The show had a polynesian fashion show, fire dancing, entertaining narration, and some audience involvement (mostly with kids).

It would be memorable for an anniversary, and lots of opportunity for romance just wandering around the Poly before and after the show.

We went in April '04 & enjoyed it. We thought the food was very good & the show, once you got past the storyline, was also good. Especially liked the bread, salad, chicken & grilled veggies. After reserving about a year in advance we got a great table at the front of the stage. The only thing we missed about the old show was the "mai-tais" (Aloooooha!!). Thought it was a great "date night" type of experience.

i have booked this for next July, asked where we would be sitting and was told tables are not reserved, just get there early to get a good table.
do you know if tables are reserved once you book, i read on another site as well that the earlier you book the better table you get, and tables are reserved

Yuck. I thought the food was terrible- like something from a cafeteria. The bread was pretty good, other than that definitely don't go here for the food! I'm surprised Disney would put their name on food like this. You'd eat better at a counter service in MK.

Oh, and I wouldn't go for the show, either- it was lame. I guess the dancers were good at what they did, but isn't Disney supposed to be known for great storytelling? This story must have been written by a couple of accountants who were in a rush to leave the office at 7:00 one night.

For the amount of money you pay for this show, it's not enough that the dancers are good. There should be a good story and decent food.
