Aloha Isle Dole Whips

I noticed everyone talking about the Dole Whips. I have never tried one but this trip I deffinitly have to! I just have 1 quick question. I noticed they have chocolate, vanilla, swirl, pineapple, and floats. Which is the one everyone talks about? I'm assuming its pineapple. Also, what makes them different than just regular ice cream? lol. Thanks!

A dole whip float is the pineapple soft serve in pineapple juice and is sooooo refreshing on a hot day. A dole whip is just the pineapple soft serve in a cup. They also have a dole whip swirl which is pineapple soft serve swirled with vanilla soft swirl. And then they have plain chocolate or vanilla which are just plain old soft serve like you can get anywhere. Think Dairy Queen.

Although, my mom swears their root beer floats are the best she's ever had. Not me! I always go for the dole whip float. Oh, you can also buy just fresh pineapple spears there that are very good.

Are they officially called a 'Dole Whip'? The reason I ask is that I had pinapple ice cream at the snack stand outside of the Enchanted Tiki Room, and didn't think that was a Dole Whip. Where do I find one?

Yes, it's "officially" called a Dole whip and the stand is right across from the entrance to Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. The Sunshine Terrace is outside the Tiki Room and they serve a Citrus Swirl, which is made with orange juice. I have never had it. The stands are reasonably close to each other, though.

Is the Magic Kingdom the only place you can get a Dole Whip or Dole Whip float? I wasn't planning on going to the Magic Kingdom this trip but may have to just to get this!

I'm planning on going to Animal Kingdom, MGM and Epcot, is there any place at either on of those theme parks that have them?

Okay, thanks. I guess I'll be making a trip to the MK this time around. I haven't rode the new improved version of Pirates of the Caribbean, so I guess I can go for a couple of hours to ride that, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and get a Dole Whip float.

Not a bad way to spend an afternoon, would you think?

Oh my...the Dole whip is AMAZING. Pineapple soft serve. YUMMY. I've always said I would try the float...but I just can't NOT get the soft serve.

Yes. This past May I asked the CM there if the floats were a snack credit (since I had heard here on the Dis that they were) and she laughed and said 'yes and I'm so glad Disney made everyone's life easier when they recently changed the snack credits to just about anything under $4.00'). We used two snack credits getting a Dole whip float and a root beer float.

We just made this in a ice cream freezer 2 weeks ago that a DISer shared the recipe with us. My parents used to travel to Hawaii every year until the last few since they are older now. They said it tasted just like what they used to get in Hawaii. I told them where they could get this in the MK. My Dad who usually is conscience of what he eats ate 3 bowls of it right in front of me. We left them a big amount of it and my DD informed me all that is gone

In 9 trips I have never had one never seemed appealing to me but then I saw a picture of one with chocolate ice cream? Is that right? What is that called?
