Aloha from the Polynesian!!!!

HI, we are staying at the Poly Concierge in June and we will be in the Tahiti building. How far is the walk to the Quiet pool and the Volcano pool. How about the walk to the GCH? What view does the first floor GV rooms have? Sorry about all the questions, just trying to get an idea. Oh, and can you walk through the different longhouses to get to Tahiti and out of the rain? Just a thought since you have been having lots of rain. Have fun the rest of your stay, and thanks for letting us know how its going.:D

Tonight we just walked around the Poly and soaked up the atmosphere. This is definitely the most romantic resort at WDW. It's sort of ugly during the day ;) but at night it's a romantic tropical paradise. The beach down by Hawaii and Tahiti is only lit by a few torches and has a beautiful view of the castle changing colors. There are hammocks, lounge chairs, and swings. The CR and GF are also beautiful. There are lots of places to stroll and catch some romantic moments. I think a 1st floor concierge lagoon view would be perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary trip. It's just like having your own private beach. ;) As we walked closer to the Volcano pool there were more people and more action. We definitely have more action here around Fiji. But I like that. :)

To try and answer your question about the walking distance..... I'm really not sure the exact distance. It is quite far, but the quiet pool is definitely the shortest walk, and then the GCH and Volcano pool would be about the same distance. It's very quiet and secluded over near Tahiti. It didn't even seem like anyone was staying over there as we walked by. I guess we're just use to the people over near the marina where we are. The first floor garden view rooms would just have a garden view. There really isn't anything over there except flowers and walking paths. As I said, it's very secluded. You are very close to the TTC though. I would not recommend a room on the far end... the lights from the TTC were glaring down and it sort of ruined the atmosphere on the far end. Try to stay up near the Hawaii end of the building.

We check out in the morning and head over to BCV's. :) I'm actually kind of sad to leave the Poly... I think dh and I need to come back sometime alone (sorry boys) and stay over by the beach. ;)

Aloha!! :)

Aloha, Erika! I totally agree with you about the romantic atmosphere at the Poly, especially at night. You need to experience it. I love this resort! So laid back and easy to fall under it's spell.
Please let us know how you are doing over at BCV. Is this your first time staying there?
I'm enjoying your live WDW reports!
Have fun.

Debbie

Thanks for all of the great info about the Poly. You are making me very excited. We will be there in June for 9 days and just can't wait. I noticed that you are there with your 3 yr old and 1 yr old. We are going with our 6 yrd old and 1 yr old DS's. How has your one year old been doing? Any advice that you can give? Is the Poly a good place for the little ones?

Thanks in advance.
Kathy

Being one in WDW is great. :) Our son is having a ball. He loves going to the parks, riding rides, going swimming, eating, he's just happy all the time. :) It's very important to do afternoon naps back in the room though cause if we don't he's very upset in the evenings. Here are a list of rides/attractions he enjoys:

Dumbo
Peter Pan
Small World
Tea cups
Buzz Lightyear
Aladdin
TTA
Train
Jungle Cruise
Country Bear Jamboree
Journey into Imagination
Spaceship Earth
The Living Seas
Mexico ride
The Land
Great Movie Ride
Playhouse Disney
Beauty and the Beast
Little Mermaid

The ones he didn't like were:
Haunted Mansion
It's tough to be a Bug
Universe of Energy
Snow White
Muppet 3D

:) Hope that helped. :)

I have to tell you that I so look forward to reading your posts. We are Poly lovers and are staying at the Poly this July and then moving over to the BCV 2 bedroom for 8 nights. I'm looking forward to your continuing reports as it makes me feel like I'm there too.

Thanks for the time you've taken to post these reports and best wishes to good weather and good times!

Aloha!

Maureen
