Aloha to those who miss me and those who don't! ;) This is the land of Aloha afterall. Having a great time. Spent three days on O'ahu, climbed Diamond Head again, visited the Bishop Museum, did another luau, enjoyed the beach but couldn't talk anyone into doing the Iolani Palace with me. Maybe next time. We are on Kauai. We hiked the Kalalau Trail and made it to the Hanapake'pae Beach, not sure of the spelling or the pronounciation but it was a very long 2 miles. Up hill and then down hill, etc, etc. It took 5 hours in and out plus time on the beach. I didn't know I needed my rt. rotator cuff for that. Yesterday we took a Holoholo boat tour of the Na Pali Coast. We saw a lot of kayak/campers en route. Well, not a lot but more than I expected. I figure the Aloha spirit will stick around for a while and then its off to the debates again! Don't know when I will log back on but in the meantime....ALOHA!!

I'm jealous. Kauai is where I want to go most of all!! I agree that you should be posting pics!!

:)

:thumbsup2 Aloha!! :beach:

Sounds heavenly!!! Of course we miss you, but know you are loving life in one of the most beautiful places in the world!! DH and I did the islands yrs ago, thought Kauai was like no other and have always wanted to go back. Have fun with your family and be careful with that shoulder. :goodvibes

Have something tall and frosty for me please ~ it is very hot and humid in good ole' So. MD!!! :sunny:

I LOVE that Island! :thumbsup2

I could recommend so much for you to do, but half the fun is finding your own things to do. Have fun!

We honeymooned at Princeville in Kauai almost 18 years ago. It is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth!

Aloha! :sunny:
I'm jealous, my kids started school today. Ugh!
Enjoy your time there. :)

Have a great time Dawn :sunny: How was the Airport?

i was just there and took my kids on a great helicopter tour and visited Leygate State beach. My kids also did the zipline. I hope you have a fabulous vacation and i for one miss you around here.

Aloha, We were married on Kauai in 2000 and went back in 2003. We are dying to go back and miss it so much. If you have a car and some time at sunset Drive out to Polihale Beach it is a very secluded beach on the North West side of the island. Basically follow the road all the way around the island past Waimea Canyon and Barking Sands Beach then take a farmer's road through the sugar cane fields and you will come to this absolutely beautiful very secluded beach. Sunsets drop down right over Niihau. It is the start of the Na Pali coast from the west side.

Oh for goodness sakes Dawn, stay off the silly computer and enjoy your trip. There will be plenty of time to DIS when you get back home.

Aloha!! I absolutely LOVE Hawaii (all the islands)!!! I'd love to go back. I visited there many moons ago. My daughter visited a few years ago and stayed on Kauai, she decided that is where she is going to get married.

LOVE Kauai! Roy's and Keoki's were good meals if you are on the south shore.

Aloha From Maui!! I would love to post pics but I am technologically challenged I am I going to take the advice of the poster who said "get off of the silly computer". ;) I will in a bit! We drove from one end of Kauai to the other and did the boat to see what was in between. That was wonderful. Caught a few sunsets, had dinner at Wahoos and Dukes, skipped the zipline and kayaking due to my torn rotator cuff and headed off to Maui yesterday. Landed, got the car and headed to Costco! What else? Big savings on food but talk about being scrutinized. I must look "suspicious" because I had to show my license with my Costco card and they would not let DH use his Amex card to pay (he gets triple miles, I only get double miles). The Ka'anapali Alii is awesome. Everything that a hotel offers in addition to a kitchen and space. No maid service. That's okay. I have made my bed already. Did all of the laundry in the middle of the night and I am ready to play. Now to get everyone else up! DS 25 invited a friend who flew into Maui yesterday. He is sleeping on the floor. Oops, I am "one over" the occupancy. With 1600 square ft, who cares? (there's a debate, ;) ) Post your Maui suggestions. I need to get off and play. I am not even going to be tempted to look at this again until the sun goes down! Aloha!

Gonna hit Roys on Maui! Love Roys. We might ditch the kids have dinner at Mamma's Fish House too. Don't tell!

Dawn, sounds like you are having a great time. I don't have any Maui advice as I've only been to Oahu and Kauai. I hope to go there and Hawaii sometime in the near future.

If you get around to it, please have a drink for me while watching the sunset. I saw some of the best I've ever seen while there on my last trip.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation. Try not think about us poor souls suffering from the bouts of heat and having to go to work. :teeth:

I had a Mai Tai last night while watching the sunset at Laelani's on the Beach and eating an ONO fish taco. It was ONO!
