Aloha Adventures with Stink-Eye, Chunk Hurling and Pixie Dust. 4/21- 4/27 TR

I am absolutely LOVING your TR. I love all of the pictures. One can never have enough Disney pictures in their TR :lmao:

First off, I would have felt like a "bad mommy" too, the morning Alex was sick, but I also admit, that I would have trudged along with the plans as well. I'm so glad everything worked out...... once you landed that is.

I love the picture of your boys with Donald , that's really cute.

I also plan which parks on which days AND what we're doing first second and third just to have no times where we don't know what we'll do next.

Can't wait to read more! Great job!!!

Our upcoming trip will be the first time with the regular ddp, last May we had the QS, so i'm interested in all of your meals. We have Chef Mickey's booked and also Ohana. We are doing the breakfast with lilo and stitch!

I too loved the picture of Donald. He is the one that arranged the boys that way. My pic is from the side, so the photopass one is much better straight on.

I think next time we will try the QS plan. I loved the sit down meals, but all our dinners were scheduled early and I did feel like we had to quite what we were doing and get to dinner.

Ohana was delicious (review is next) and we would definately do again (maybe not OOP with the kids not eating much). The Lilo & Stitch breakfast we did last year (oop) and it was delicious with good character interaction. We really wanted to do it again this year, but with the DDP I thought we should try others to see what we liked for future trips. I really like that they serve you rather than a buffet.

I was just browsing a few trip reports and stumbled upon yours! Since you stayed at the Poly and our upcomming trip will be there as well I think I'll hop on board. :thumbsup2

First off, from what I've seen in your pictures so far it was not very crowded. We are worrying about our trip in June with huge crowds forecasted. :scared1:

So far your trip looks great. I'll be looking forward to your next update. :goodvibes

You are going to LOVE the Poly!!! I have more resort pictures I will be posting later in the review. I thought it was crowded this April compared to last year and definately compared to September (not to scare you off....) I think I don't know what huge crowd are though at Disney since we've only gone at slower times.

On a side note........... I open my email this morning and see that Disney has extended free dining to the end of the year. They are just taunting me to go back for another trip!!! Ok, I just looked close and it is a PIN for me on the offer.

Wonder if I can talk DH into another trip. :rotfl: I better not......... (but you know the Disney wheels are spinning!!) If only I lived closer to drive there.....

Count me in! Love it so far. I do love the Poly, but have only gotten to stay there once. Unfortunately it was one really awful trip (not the fault of the Poly, but those I traveled with).
Can't wait to see what other pixie dust you come up with and hope for no more blowing chunks!

Love your Trip report so far!

Glad to have you on board!

Welcome and glad you joined as well! More pixie dust, stink eye and chunk blowing to come! If only it didn't take so long to load photos.

I forgot to mention the "stink-eye" at AK............... as you know we had lunch at Flame Tree BBQ. Well, me being the informed DISser that I am know that at the podiums you order on both sides. Well, there were several lines of people, but most were all on one side of the podium. So I walk on up to an empty side and wait my turn. I ignored all the stink-eye, but I'm sure it was there. Unfortunately, I picked a bad podium because the people on the other side ordering too FOREVER to order and there were a bunch of them in their party too.

Now, on with the show!

We had 5:15 ressie at Ohana and were about 10 min late. We checked in and had to wait about a half hour. In the meantime Keith went to see if lovey had been turned in to lost and found and it hadn’t. I'm can't recall if I mentioned lovey previously, but love is Alex's little stuffed thing - bear head with a blakent bottom. He sleeps with it at night and had it with him on arrival days since he hadn't been feeling well. Well, lovey got lost once we arrived at the Poly. We don’t know where it is or where exactly it was lost at. We decided someone must have picked it up in the lobby and kept it or something as it made it off the bus anyway. He never asked for lovey during the entire trip. Once we were back home the following night he asked for it and I had to tell him lovey decided to stay at WDW. He cried and that was the end of it. Whew!

So about a half hour past our reservation time (I'm guessing at the time, but it seemded that long), we were seated. 'Ohana is a hard reservation to get. I ended up making one for 5 as that was available and then told them only 4 when we checked in. Dinner was delicious and sooo much food. Service was kind of slow though. Started with drinks (pomegranate lemonade was really good), and the bread (no butter though. butter would have made it better), then came the salad (yummy; I could have had just that for a meal) then the pot stickers and wings. Next out came the broccoli and noodles and the meats. The shrimp was ok, the steak ok, the turkey delicious and really moist. The pork was good as well. I wasn't a fan of having the peel the shrimp and the steak was kind of tough. Then they brought out the delicious bread pudding. I could have eaten the entire dish myself it was so yummy. It did need more ice cream. Note to self - order extra ice cream with it next time. I can see why the reservations are hard to get here. Soooo yummy!!!

After dinner the boys wanted to (you guessed it) swim so we got our stuff and headed to the beach and the volcano pool. I took my refillable mug with for drinks for us. We swam for a while and the back to the room for showers and bed around 9pm.

CHUNK HURLING ALERT:
During the night I woke up not feeling very well. I ended up throwing up a couple of times before finally going back to sleep. I caught the bug that the boys had. I knew it would pass and I would be better within the next 24 hrs. I NEVER get sick. I couldn't tell you the last time I had any type of flu-bug. But, the trooper / disney addict that I am trekked on! I'm glad to say that was the end of the chunk hurling on our trip! :worship:

Friday 4/23 - MK

Wake up call was sent for 7:00 as I really wanted to see the opening ceremony at the MK today. This was another of my must-do items as I have never seen it yet. My stomach was still quezy all the next day, but I wasn't going to let that stop me! We made it out of the room in plenty of time, hopped on the monorail, through bag check and the turnstiles and secured a place to watch the opening. I wished I had looked at a watch to see how we did on time, but I didn't. I just know we were there in plenty of time and had a short wait (10-15minutes). We didn’t eat breakfast in the room before we left and I kept hoping everyone would hold out for an early lunch. The opening show is really neat and I hope to see it again in the future, but if not, I did video tape the whole thing. Unfortunately, we didn't see it on our other MK day.

100_2334.jpg

After the show, the crowds rushed thru the tunnels. It was crazy busy and main street was packed. At one point as we were walking, a dad pushing a stroller stopped, yelled back at his wife “you’re going to slow, give her to me” and took off carrying one child, pushing another. I just had to laugh. They must have either been late to BBB or took the Dumbo dash a little too seriously! That became our catch phrase during the week "your going to slow, give her to me". :rotfl:

Ahh.................the first glimpse of the castle and the morning rush!
100_2336.jpg

Alex loved the garbage cans spitting out the bubbles. I love the CM’s waving with their Mickey hands. I even bought a pair so when Evan leaves for school I can wave to him. (I do and it embarasses him!)

100_2340.jpg

100_2338.jpg

Now my biggest planning dilema is always what to do first. So todays agenda involved me grabbing 2 fp’s for Space Mountain and two for Buzz to use later in the day while Keith and the boys headed to the Speedway (best to get that long one out of the way first!). The line for Space on standby was way out the door, posted 20 min I think.
100_2343.jpg

I quickly secured the fp’s and went to meet the guys at Tomorrowland Speedway. I went up on the grandstand viewing area to watch them and they were still standing in line. There was only one side loading this early in the morning so it was slow. As they got closer to getting in their cars, I walked to the edge of the grandstand and asked the guy if I could hop in the car with Evan since he was going to drive by himself. He let me in, which was very nice of him to do (pixie dust) (I’m sure there was some stink-eye in there somewhere). Evan was tall enough to drive by himself, which was the plant, but I don’t know that he could have driven the entire track himself. He had me push down on the gas pedal while he steered. He’s a crazy driver and I dread the day he gets his permit.

100_2347.jpg
100_2354.jpg

After the Speedway, we headed to Fantasyland. On our way, we stopped to get some muffins and water (5 snack credits) for breakfast which we ate while we walked. Commando in me really didn't want to stop for food! There were rides to be ridden!! That and I wasn't very hungry being sick and all. Since we were near Pooh, we went on that first. I think it showed a 10 minute wait, but it went very quickly.
100_2358.jpg

After Pooh we walked over to Snow White and walked right on (I think it showed a 0 wait). After SW, we tried to pull out the sword, but were not strong enough (or lucky enough).
100_2359.jpg
100_2360.jpg

100_2361.jpg
100_2362.jpg

We then hopped onto the carousel with no wait. Alex wanted to ride Dumbo and I tried to talk him out of it knowing the wait would be forever at this time. It was showing 30 minutes and Keith said he would take Alex on it. (I'm horrified at the thought of waiting 30 minutes for a ride. I guess I read TGM too much). So while they waited, Evan and I grabbed fp’s for Peter Pan to use later and then walked onto IASW. When we were done, we went back over to Dumbo to see how close they were to riding. They were getting ready to get on so we stayed and watched them and took some pictures.

100_2368.jpg

100_2370.jpg

After Dumbo, we headed over to Haunted Mansion. I was hoping it didn’t scare the crap out of Alex and debated on asking to skip the stretching room with him. We decided to take him in there and he was fine as long as Keith was showing him the “silly” pictures in the room. Alex rode with Keith and Evan and I were together. Evan really liked it, but Alex not so much.
We were eligible for a new set of fp’s so we went to Splash Mountain to get 4 to use later. After getting those, we headed to lunch at Peco’s Bills. I had the chicken Caesar salad, carrot cake and water (didn’t eat the dessert). Keith had the angus burger, carrot cake and tea. Alex had the kids cheeseburger, grapes and cookie. Evan had the kids chicken salad, grapes and cookie. My salad was good, what I ate of it anyway. My stomach was still quezy. Evan didn't like the ranch dressing he put on his salad, so he didn't eat much of it. Sorry - no food porn. The seating area is always packed and the tables small.

After lunch we headed back to Splash to use the fp’s. Alex refused to go on this, so Keith and Evan went first. In the meantime, I was going to get fp’s for BTRM, but had to wait for our window to open back up. Alex and I also waited in the play area near the exit of Splash. That area is crowded and hot.
100_2374.jpg

After both rides on Splash, we headed over to BTRM. Keith went as far as the ride and then stepped over to get off, so the three of us rode in one car in the very front. Keith thought it would make him sick so he decided to skip it. We decided it best he wait to skip it until the last minute so Alex would chicken out too. Alex wasn’t too thrilled with this ride, but Evan loved it. We then stopped for a snack; a strawberry bar for Alex (bribe to ride BTRM) and an itzakadoozie for Evan (2 snack credits). One of the many strawberry bars to be consumed throughout the week.
100_2375.jpg

We then made our way over to Adventureland to ride Pirates which showed a short wait as well (10 or 15 mintues), however there must have been a problem as we were close to boarding as the line stalled out. During this time, we had line cutters. I thought they were looking for others in their party, but where they stopped, you could tell they weren’t with the others around them. They were getting the stink eye from me! After Pirates, we headed to Tomorrowland to use our FP’s from the morning. Evan and I went on Space Mountain while Keith and Alex rode Buzz. Space Mountain almost made me sicke. I really thought I was going to hurl more chunks during this ride! We then headed out of the park for the day as we had dinner reservations at 1900 Park Fare and I wanted to shower before dinner.

Loving your TR! Sounds like a great trip (well, minus the chunk hurling of course...) Can't wait to hear more.

I left you as we headed out of MK for the day back to the Poly to get ready for
Letter-Page003.jpg

We headed to the monorail bound for the Grand Floridian Resort and checked in at 5:19 for our 5:30 ressie. We were given a pager which went off just a few minutes later. We then had the picture taken in front of the mural and was then seated along the wall in the main dining room area. We grabbed some food and then the characters started coming around. The roast beef was ok, but very fatty. The mashed potatoes were very good and they had seafood paella, which I love. Now I didn't eat much since I had been sick the night before. I don't all recall what the kids had either. Probably more nuggets and mac & cheese.

First up was Prince Charming. He was very nice and told the boys to give Cinderella a message for him. To tell her that he said she looks very pretty tonight. Evan asked him where his sword was and he said he would bump into too much stuff in the dining room if he had it on, but that he wears it while in the woods.
100_2383.jpg

Next up was Cinderella. Good thing Prince Charming told the boys to give her a message or I don’t think the boys would have said much to her.
100_2386.jpg

Every time Lady Tremaine walked by she always gave Alex the stink-eye. When she stopped to sign for us, she made the boys push in their chairs before she would pose. After her was Anastasia. She loved seeing the picture of herself in the autograph book. She also loved Alex. It was a good interaction. Then came Drizella who picked on Alex as well.

100_2397.jpg

After dinner we went back to the room. Since I had been sick with little sleep over the past couple of days, I went to bed at 7pm and Keith took the boys swimming. They swam really late (around 10 or 11 I think) and enjoyed a flatbread pizza snack as well. See the stuff you miss out on!

Saturday - 4/24

Today was our "off day" with no major parks planned. I got up around 7:30 and gathered stuff to go do laundry. Each load to wash was $2 and $2 to dry. They do sell soap and softner in the laundry room, however I brought some of the Purex 3 in 1 sheets with me and they worked perfect for traveling. While I was getting ready to go, Evan work up and wanted to go with me. While the clothes were in, Evan and I got something to drink and took pictures of the resort. Then we went to check on the laundry, put in the dryer and did the same again. Folded the stuff and went back to the room to get Keith and Alex up and ready for the day.

Pictures from around the resort:

We had 10:30 ressie at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. We checked in at 10:19 and were seated at 10:23. We skipped the picture today and were seated again in the main room along the wall. Mary Poppins had just finished up with the table next to us and said she would be back once we were settled in.
Food was delicious, better than dinner, I thought. I love Mickey waffles. I swear they taste better than regular waffles. The lobster egg benedict was very good as well.

We saw Pooh and Tigger right away, then Mary Poppins came back. It took forever for Alice and Mad Hatter to get around. We were done and paid before they came over. The interaction was pretty good. We actually saw pooh and tigger 3 times. Mary Poppins really liked the autograph books I made and told me that I must be practically perfect and that Keith was very lucky. Hear that 'o husband of mine??!! :rotfl:

After breakfast, we took the monorail back to our resort to change into swim suits and then to the bus stop to head to Blizzard Beach. We had never been to a Disney waterpark before and figured since the military discount to upgrade was cheap, we would try it this trip. It was a very short wait for a bus and we got there around noonish. First stop was to get a life jacket for Alex (they didn’t take my ID, which was good because when we left, the building was closed for the day) and then we headed to the little tykes area where we dropped off our stuff on a chair. We did not get a locker, but then we didn't have much valuables on us either. I did leave our camera tucked into my beach bag and I had a few dollars in there, but not much. We then checked out the little kids area for Aex and then onto the older kid area for Evan. After that we all did the lazy river together. I had a heck of a time getting into the inner tube and in the process lost my sunglasses (probably looked like a beached whale too) :lmao: Alex wasn’t so sure of it at first, but seemed to really enjoy it. They have tubes that have a bottom in them for little kids. I just hung on to him the entire time and he was fine, although he didn’t like the areas where the water was spraying or raining down.

I never did find my sunglasses. Afterwards we went to the wave pool area and then Evan and Keith did some slides. Alex wanted ice cream so we got the garbage pail (way too big for one person). Evan thought he could eat one by himself. Keith and I couldn’t even finish one! I wish I had taken a picture of it. It was huge and filled with all kids of sweet goodness.

100_2477.jpg
100_2478.jpg

With 30 min left before park closing, Evan and I did the summit plummet. Evan went first and really liked it, but it burnt up his inner thigh. I went and got a major wedgie into places unmentionable. We left when they closed the park and took the bus back to our resort. We had to wait a little while, but no longer than maybe 15 minutes. The kids wanted to swim right away when we got back, so Keith took them to the pool /beach and I stopped back in the room. You would think that being at a waterpark all day they would be worn out and not interested in more swimming............... We swam until after 8 and then headed to the arcade to use the free points that came with the package. When we first got there the games were all showing as free. I did end up getting some extra points for them to play with. Around 9ish we went to Capt Cooks for 2 CS of flatbreads, waters, muffin and croissant (the desserts for breakfast the next day). We took it back to the room to eat and decided we were all still hungry, so Keith ran to get 2 more cs meals with the same stuff. We used all the bakery items as breakfast the next day. Man that was good pizza!! We had the pepperoni and the hawaiian ones. After we ate, we fell asleep around 10 after another busy day.

Sunday, 4/25 - Epcot

Today was our Epcot day. I do love Epcot! We left sometime after 8:30 probably closer to 9. We walked over to the TTC and grabbed the Epcot monorail. Nice short ride over and quickly through the gates. First up was to grab FP’s for Soarin’, which we did. Standby was showing for 20 min. Fp return was for 10:05. While waiting for our FP time to open, we did Living with the Land. It was interesting. No wait, however the time showed a 20 min wait??? Huh? I hadn't been on it before, so we hopped on right away. Can you spot the hidden mickey in the picture:
100_2487.jpg

After LWTL, we stopped for photopass near Nemo, then walked onto Nemo, then waited 10 minutes for the next Turtle Talk with Crush to start. While waiting, Alex decided to wander off and ended up in the play area. Keith and I were freaked out not knowing where he was. He was in big trouble!! Keith found him over in the play area. The CM near Crush didn't seem too concerned we couldn't find our child............. We entered and sat in the first row and the boys were right up front. Neither got called on and Evan was holding Alex’s arm down to prevent him from asking a question. Who knows what he would have come up with for a question. It was cute and I videotaped the entire show.

Afterward Crush, we walked back to use the fp’s for Soarin and we scored the front row. Alex was a little unsure, but he held my hand and sat with his legs up on the seat and was fine. Next on the agenda was to grab fp’s for Test Track to use later in the day before heading to the world showcase.

100_2489.jpg

We were hungry for lunch by this time so we headed to Norway to eat. I have to tell you that lunch in Epcot was one of my hardest planning decisions. All the CS places sounded good, but I wanted to eat somewhere near where I thought we would be without a lot of backtracking (Morocco was out because of this and last year we ate at Sunshine Seasons) Just as we were getting to Norway, we stopped at the KP booth so we could do a mission after lunch. We were to report to Italy at 12:15 to pick up our Kimmunicators. For lunch we ate at the Kringla Bakery. The kids had the pb&j meals with grapes and jello. Keith and I had the chefs selection, which was a sandwich (Norwegian club) and a cup of soup (corn chowder) along with a dessert (school bread and a cappuccino cheesecake) and our drinks. The sandwiches were delicious. The soup ok (I wouldn’t have ordered it if it were on the dining plan). The School bread was good and reminded me of a doughnut. The cheesecake was nasty. It had a weird texture and taste. I could go for one of those sandwiches and school bread right now.......
100_2496.jpg
100_2497.jpg
100_2498.jpg

After lunch we did Maelstrom (walk on) and stopped at the Kidcot station.
100_2500.jpg
100_2502.jpg
100_2505.jpg

We then booked it over to Italy to start the KP mission. I choose Mexico since we haven’t explored that country yet on our past trips. The wood carvings they have for sale are beautiful and someday I would like to get one. They are pricey though, even for the small ones (ones I saw were around $30 for the small). We did the mission in Mexico and then hopped onto the Gran Fiesta Tour.

100_2512.jpg
100_2511.jpg

After the Mexico mission, Evan selected Japan as the next mission without really letting us look at the list. I wasn’t too happy as we could have chosen one closer to where we currently were (say Norway). So on our way, we stopped to check out the Stave church in Norway before heading to Japan for the mission. The boys did the mission and decided they were done with it for the day so they deposited the Kimmunicator in the secret receptacle. Then it was time for some shopping in Japan where Evan selected a bunch of candy. I got a pair of chopsticks and Keith and I shared a glass of plum wine. Their plum wine is very good. We were going to buy a bottle, but it was $26 and I didn’t want it to break on the plane.

We had the purchases sent to the front of the park. This was the first time using this service and it worked very well. We were then able to catch the end of Miyuaki (the Candy Lady) show. According to my pictures, we then went to Morocco. Probably because we had dinner ressies in Germany and would hit the other countries on our way back. The boys did do the Kidcot in Japan where the CM’s wrote their names in Japanese.
100_2536.jpg
100_2538.jpg
100_2525.jpg

In Morocco, we stopped in the museum of adornment (or something like that). It was quiet and cool in there. Some people were using it as a resting place (good idea!) We then went in a few shops and the kids again did the Kidcot station.
100_2549.jpg
100_2544.jpg
100_2540.jpg

Next up was France where we stopped to watch Serveur Amusant. For some reason I didn’t have my Grand Marnier slushie this trip. We did locate the Kidcot station in the gift shop area so the boy stopped and did that. We then grabbed some pastries (4 snack credits) to have for breakfast the next day – a chocolate éclair, croissants and an apple turnover – the éclair was nasty. The other stuff ok, I thought it would be much better).

100_2556.jpg
100_2554.jpg

After France we decided to start heading back the other way towards Germany for our dinner reservations at Biergarten. We first stopped in Italy where again the kids did the Kidcot station. After they did their coloring, there was another booth set up where if they answered a few questions on a quiz (with our help), they each received a pin. They could then color a mask and were given an Italian flag. They loved these extra activities. Next up was China with a stop at the Kidcot station where again their names were written in Chinese. We didn’t explore much here.
100_2563.jpg
100_2562.jpg
100_2560.jpg

It was getting close to our reservation time so we made our way to the Kidcot station in Germany. While waiting on the kids I bought some gummie bears, gummie sour spaghetti (yummy) and some German chocolate.
We checked in at Biergarten for our reservation and were given a pager. There is stroller parking in the building for Biergarten so no need to leave it outside, which was good since it looked like rain. We didn’t have to wait too long before our pager went off. We were seated at the railing on the second level. We were later joined by a newly engaged couple and an older couple. They didn’t interact much with us and I don’t blame them since they didn’t have kids with them.
Our drink orders were taken; Keith and I shared the beer flight. We then made our way up to the buffet. It had a good selection of food. The cucumber salad was just like my Grandma makes. I had never had schnitzel before so I was excited to try it. It was chicken schnitzel and very yummy, especially with the gravy on it. I also tried the spaetzle, which I had never had before. It was ok, but didn’t have much appeal. The soup they had that night was very good and I had two bowls of that with the pretzel bread.
The desserts were ok. The Bavarian cheesecake was very light and delicious. I also tried the chocolate cake (can’t remember the name of it) and it was just ok. We were able to see the entertainment and Alex wanted to dance so I took him out there. We did the polka and the chicken dance. They didn’t play the horns or the bells while we were there. The service was very good!

Mary Poppins really liked the autograph books I made and told me that I must be practically perfect and that Keith was very lucky. Hear that 'o husband of mine??!! :rotfl:

Ah! Now that's what I call good interaction! :thumbsup2 I'm sure your hubby appreciates all the effort you went through, right?

I'm loving your tour of EPCOT. We will start in China and work our way steadily to the other end. Lunch with the Princesses in Norway and then Dinner at Teppan Edo. We will try to catch Illuminations at England.

So no Norwegian cheesecake, eh?

Mary Poppins was a good interaction. I'm sure DH did appreciate the books I made, although after I finished them, I'm not sure I did. Man they were heavy!!! And we didn't really hunt down to many autographs. I figure we can use it for future trips as well.

I have to say I still have not see Illuminations. I've heard it is good and will be on my "must do" list one of these trips.

Yes, skip the Norwegian cheesecake. It looked but, but stick with the school bread or try something else. They did have a really good looking chocolate cake........... :)

I'm hoping to post an update here in the next night or so, so stay with me. You can do it!

On a side note, I received the "Monster Savings" pin email yesterday. 40% off most all resorts this fall through December dates. I sooooo want to use it! I'm trying to figure out a way to go again! It's an addiction and I really do need a 12 step program. Something in the kool-aid.............

Heck, I would go with just the kiddos and leave DH at home.........has anyone done solo with 2 kids by themselves? How did it work out???

Ready for another update? I have phototpass pics!! I left off with dinner at Biergarten. Yummy food!!!

When we left, there was a photopass photographer in Germany, so we had a couple of pictures taken there. We didn’t see too many in Epcot so I was kind of disappointed in that.

It was starting to cloud up, so we headed out of the World showcase and over to Test Track to use our FP’s. There was no line for FP and we walked right up to the holding area. Standby was pretty empty as well. We waited a few minutes and then entered the pre-show. The CM’s interrupted it early to get us on the ride due to the weather. As we were waiting before the pre-show, they told everyone the ride may shut down due to the weather. We were able to get on in time and enjoy our ride. Alex wasn’t too sure of it, but did fine.

Afterwards we headed to Spaceship Earth. It was getting darker and darker each minute. We walked right on to the ride. I really like this ride and the pictures crack me up. This time we did receive the videos when we got home. T

The boys played a few of the games afterwards. As we decided to leave, there was a huge line of people hanging out just outside the door as it had started to pour. I grabbed our ponchos and we put those on to make our way back to the stroller area, which luckily was under the ball and kind of protected. The rain was coming down much harder and the wind had really started to pick up. People were running and falling on the wet concrete.
We decided to hang out in the gift shop across from SE and wait it out along with a bunch of other people. It finally looked like it was letting up, so Keith ran across to grab the stroller and brought it back to the gift shop where I proceeded to put the stroller rain cover on it and put Alex inside it. Glad it paid off that I had it with us! It was still raining, but not very hard. We made our way to package pick up and got our Japan purchases. Then we made our way to the monorail and didn’t have too long to wait. Alex fell asleep on the way back to our resort in his stroller. We did get off at the TTC and walked back to our room. It was still sprinkling, but not too bad.

Monday – 4/26
I think I had a wakeup call for 7:30, but was up before that as usual. We ate our breakfast that we bought in France the day before. They were OK, but not the best. I did sit out on the balcony and enjoy mine with some coffee. We then got dressed and ready for our day at the Magic Kingdom. We hopped on the monorail and made it through ticketing and bag check. Since we missed rope drop, we were able to head straight through the castle and to Fantasyland. I didn’t really have a plan for today (gasp!!), but it was to be a more of a relaxed day and be out of the park by early afternoon so we could nap for our late night (we only take afternoon breaks/naps if we have a late night planned). Our first stop was Peter Pan’s Flight since Alex loved it the other day. It was showing a 5 minute standby wait, so we hopped on there. I also grabbed FP’s to use later that evening.

After that we rode It’s a Small World and then made our way to the Tea Cups. I was surprised that Keith joined us since he doesn’t do the spinning rides, but he said it didn’t bother him too much. The boys had a blast spinning us around.

Next up was to visit Toontown where we rode Goofy’s Barnstormer. I was really surprised that Alex only wanted to ride it once since last year we rode it several times in a row. After the rollercoaster, Alex wanted to play at Donald’s Boat, so they played there while I took some pictures of the area to remember before the big change. We then we to visit Minnie’s house and then to Mickey’s house. Those are so cute and will be missed.

We then hopped on to the train to get over to Frontierland where I grabbed FP’s for Splash Mountain to again use later that evening. We decided to check out Tom Sawyer’s Island. As we got off the raft, the pilot told us to look for the paintbrushes, so that is what we did, but didn’t find any. I have no idea what they looked like or where they would be hidden, but we didn’t find anything. We spent at least a half hour there and then finally I was able to convince Keith to eat lunch.

We headed over to Columbia Harbour House for lunch. Keith and I both had the Anchors Aweigh sandwich, which was light and delicious. There weren’t any onions or celery in it and was light on the mayo. Keith had yogurt for dessert and I had the apple crisp, which tasted like yummy apple pie. Definitely recommend this dessert. Evan had the adults chicken nugget meal with the chocolate cake (this was the only time he used an adult credit and the CM said it was fine). Alex had the kids nugget meal.

After lunch, we stopped in the Christmas Shoppe so I could get an ornament for this year. I got a cute star with Mickey heads cut out in it and the year painted on it. We were going to head out, but first I wanted to grab some more FP’s for Buzz for later. The Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It parade was in process, so we stopped to watch that for a little bit, and then made our way across to Tomorrowland.

100_2662.jpg

Of course I had us stop for a photopass picture. Everyone wanted to ride Buzz now, but standby was 20 minutes and the line was way out the door. Instead, we went on Carousel of Progress (air conditioning). Half way through Alex decides he needs to use the bathroom. I don’t know if we could have gotten out of the exit or not, but he was able to hold it. Afterwards we made a quick escape to the nearest restrooms. Close call!

By now it was getting really busy in Tomorrowland. The plan was to get the heck out of Dodge..................... up next the evening entertainment.

I left you hanging by the edge of your seat just waiting for our next move, didn't I? It's ok if you weren't, but just in case, I have a new update for you! :goodvibes

We made it out of the park for an afternoon break and back to our room by 2pm. Straight into bed for everyone where we slept for a couple of hours. We headed back to the park around 4 as we had a 5:35 reservation at Crystal Palace, you know, that fancy crystal place. :lmao: We took the boat back to the MK and had to wait awhile for it, but it was nice sitting out there on the water by ourselves.

100_2676.jpg

We arrived in the park around 5 and they were doing the flag retreat ceremony, so we stopped to watch that. My first thought was to rush to our ressie, but it was nice to slow down and take in the moment. It was very nice and very patriotic.
100_2684.jpg

When it was over, we headed towards Crystal Palace and checked in. We were given a pager and we hung out in front. Our pager went off a short time later. We were seated on the left hand side of the restaurant. Our table was at an odd place. The boys could both get out of their chairs, but Keith and I were on a banquet seat and I would have to slide out for Keith to get in and out due to a column that was right there. Kind of annoying, plus I felt like we were right next to the other tables there. The characters were starting to come around and our waitress said to just wait for them or it could be an hour to an hour and half before they would be back around. :scared1: We just sat there and waited just to be safe. When there was a lull in the characters, I did run up and grab food for the kids though. We saw Tigger, Eyeore, Pooh and Piglet. The interaction, was OK, but felt kind of rushed. Alex participated in the parade they did (I didn’t see much napkin twirling though).

Alex asked Eeyore if he found his tail:

After dinner, we headed over to ride Buzz Lightyear with our FP’s from this morning. We walked directly on. Standby was out the door. (stink-eye) I can never tell where my laser dot is, so I had a crappy score, but I did beat Evan!
100_2720.jpg

After Buzz, Alex got a Buzz Lightyear gun since he hadn’t gotten much for souvenirs yet. Too bad it makes noise…… Then we headed to Peter Pan, but first stopped to see Mickey’s Philharmagic. I love this 3-D show. Alex didn’t want to wear the glasses, but finally put them on. The show isn’t the same without the glasses on.
100_2721.jpg

Afterwards, we used the fp’s for Peter Pan. Standby was at 45 minutes I think. Afterwards we trekked on to Splash Mountain with our fp’s from this morning. It was the best plan to collect the fp’s and use them after our return. On our way to Splash, we stopped at the first popcorn cart we came across and got a bucket of popcorn (paid OOP) and two waters (2 snack credits) to snack on while we waited for the parade. (best idea ever! we didn't have to track one down later)

Alex didn’t want to do Splash, but we were one of those parents and made him. He still talks about that ride. We did have a wait in the FP line, but not too bad. It may have been less, but when we got to the area where they collected the fp’s, a CM was cleaning out the collection barrel and must have dropped some or something and standby people were just whizzing past them. When we finally got on, Alex and I were supposed to be in the very front. I didn’t think this was a very good idea with this being his first ride and all, so I swapped with Keith and Evan and they rode in the front with Alex and I behind them. I did hang on to Alex during all the drops. He was tall enough, but he is a little guy. During the big drop, he might not have gotten all that wet, but the water all pooled on the seat behind his butt and he ended up soaked there from sitting in the water. That is all he talked about, his booty being wet and the fox pushing the bears booty at the end. He loved that part too.

After Splash, they had the ropes set up for Spectro, so we staked out a spot alongside the ropes in Frontierland. We parked the stroller back beside the fence behind us. We ate the popcorn and the water and I broke out our glow necklaces and light up glasses from home to enjoy while we waited. Luckily the boys never asked for the light up toys from the carts. I think Keith was more taken with the light up sabers than the kids were. Spectro was wonderful and I’m so glad we were able to see it and video tape it.
