Well it is quite early on Sunday morning. DW & I will be leaving for a one night stay at the Clarion LaGuardia Hotel at 6PM on Tuesday night. We will be flying out at 6AM Wednesday morning. The reason I am up so early this morning is that I have come down with a cold. Yesterday I started with the congestion, sneezing, cough, and runny nose. At 3AM this morning I woke up with a raging sore throat [thank God for Ceprocol spray, but I wish it didn't taste quite so bad]. Oh well I have 2 1/2 days to get better, just hope DW doesn't come down with it.
Plans are all set, PS's are all arranged, bags are 98% packed. We really need this trip, it has been a rough six months. In early December, just 2 weeks before our last trip to WDW with DGS[3], I found myself in the hospital with some neurological symtoms. I was put on a 5 day course of IV steroids and the symtoms resolved very quickly BUT the hospital took a "routine" chest x-ray when I was admitted and they saw someting there that didn't belong.
After our return from WDW on 12/19 I began the rounds of doctors trying to figure out what was growing in my left lung. After several CT scans, a PET scan, and a needle biopsy [which caused my lung to colapse] the results were in and they were INCONCLUSIVE [WTH?]. So off I go to a Cardio-Thoracic surgeon who schedules me for exploratory sugery on 3/11.
We arrive at the hospital about 7AM on the 11th and I lay in a bed for almost 3 hours of complete boredom. Just before 10AM transport arrives to take me to the pre-op staging area where I wait nearly another hour. Finally at nearly 11AM I am rolled into the operating room. All the people in the room introduce themselves to me as I am being put under. There were about 6 people in the room, I don't think I made it thru the first 2 introductions before I was out.
About 3PM someone is yelling at me.
