In February we signed a contract to buy into AKL through the resale market. We got through ROFR in March, and were just waiting on the final paperwork. Then on Wednesday we found out that contracts for which the file had not been closed and the deed recorded by 4/3/16 would not be granted actual DVC membership (including membership card, and other incidental benefits). Needless to say my husband and I were heartbroken that we had missed the cutoff by a matter of days.
Then, we found out yesterday that Disney had changed its mind and that contracts submitted to Disney for review by 4/3/16 would be grandfathered in. We're so excited to officially become DVC members in the next few days! I'm sure we will have lots of questions in the future. I'm glad to have this seasoned forum as a resource.
