Almost "sold" on Polynesian Concierge

We currently have a standard garden view room booked at the Polynesian in Nov. but with not having to pay for passes (we have APs from our last trip) and it being our 20th anniversary I would really like to stay concierge (may be my only chance!).

I do have a couple of questions:

Can you get milk and grapefruit juice in the lounge (one child only drinks milk and I love my grapefruit juice in WDW)?

We stayed in Tokelau on our last trip. Are the rooms in Hawaii the same size? What exactly are they doing to renovate this building?

Has anyone ever been upgraded from garden view to lagoon view concierge? We can't possibly do lagoon view but it would be wonderful to dream of an upgrade for our 20th!

Thanks!

Polynesian concierge is very nice--you will love it! I know that they have milk at breakfast, but I'm not sure about the rest of the day. It might not be out on the buffet, but I'll bet they could give you some if you asked. I'm not sure about the grapefruit juice. Concierge rooms are the same size as regular rooms, but they do include a small empty fridge for free (which can definitely come in handy). It's my understanding that the rooms will look the same after the renovation, it's just new furnishings/drapes/etc. I would mention when making my new ressie that you are celebrating your anniversary. Of course there is no guarantee for an upgrade, but maybe they will be able to give you one if the rooms aren't full. :)

Hi Lisa,

You will love the Poly conceirge with small children. The staff there is very accommodating to parents with little ones. Milk is out in the morning in large containers -- but any time during the day you can come down to the lounge and ask someone for a small carton of milk -- or ask for it as you leave in the morning and store it in the refrig in your room.

I don't remember if there is grapefruit juice -- I don't drink it. But i have yet to "need" something that they haven't been able to provide. The will provide "yogart" if you ask for your kids (though I've never seen it on the buffet)

We were once upgraded from garden view to lagoon view (been hooked ever since!!). I think it depends on how booked they are. We simply asked for a view of the castle and we were upgraded.

The rooms are the same size as the others in the resort.

Hope that helps. *Ü*

I like tomato juice in the a.m. It's not a usual drink offered in the lounge. When I asked about it several years ago, they offered to get some and keep it on hand for me. At first I said that I didn't want to be a bother, etc., etc.--I was assured it wasn't a bother at all and they would be happy to arrange for it.

Each year thereafter, I've just asked the Island Planning office to request tomato juice (or gone to the lounge upon arrival to request it for the week). It was not a problem. In fact, as soon as the staff saw our family arrive in the lounge each a.m., it was just brought to me without asking! Now that's incredible service! It's just those little things that make Polynesian so special.

Which reminds me, I forgot to request it for this trip. . .
