I know, I know this is the 2,478,465,982nd thread about Target Redcards on this budget board but this one is different, I promise!!

This one is a plea, a beg from me!! :flower3:

Not only can we get a great discount on our Disney giftcards and everything else we buy at Target but are you aware that they will give 1% back on all of our purchases to a school of our choice? All we have to do is sign up quickly online (honestly takes two minutes) or call and do it over the phone. It is very easy and no reason not to do it! Schools are struggling nowadays and any extra income is wonderful. Even if you do not have any school aged children just pick a school in your neighborhood or your alma marter. Anywhere just don't let their willing donation sit there and not be collected.

Thanks for hearing me out and hopefully it helps some schools! :goodvibes

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I sit on my son's PTO, and it really makes a difference! We only have about 15 or so parents that have signed up to do this but we get a check of at least $500 once a year. I think Target pays it out only once a year around the beginning of school, so I will be interested to see how much we get this year after promoting it more. I know I spent a ton a Target over the last year, so we'll probably get that $500 just from me! HA! But it really does make a difference, and it's just for doing something you would normally do anyway!

Done! I never knew about this, thank you! I just saw that our school has raised almost $9,000 through RedCard donations! Awesome!

I just double checked to make sure that I was enrolled and I am. It looks like there are 29 red cards associated with my girls' school and that they got a little over $500 last year.

Where on the Target site do you do this?

Thanks, I didn't know I could do this with my debit card. Here are stats from my local schools:

High School: 139 card, most recent donation $3,100, total $35,000
Middle School: 140 cards, recent $4,300, total $50,000
Elementary Schools: 20-60 cards, recent $3,300, total $31,000

Done - took 2 minutes. Thanks OP for the great info! :goodvibes

My DH just said ,with my spending at Target, our kids school will have a Starbucks in it by the end of the year.

Signed up! Only 9 people signed up at DS's school but I make 10!

Thanks for posting this! I was already signed up (I thought so) but I just changed my registration to the high school. DS has only been through two years of HS already and I've forgotten to change it. :rolleyes1 Oh well, at least the right school district has been getting credit from my Target purchases. :goodvibes

I appreciate the heads up--I did not know about this program. D's in college, but the high school can use the funds!

I did not know this but I just went online and found the scho that my kids will be attending (neither one is in kindergarten yet). It looked like I was the 18th one for that school.

Thanks so much for this information, OP! I just signed up - this is an great & easy way to help my kids' school. I wish I had known about it sooner!

A lot of other stores also do this. I know Kroger and Meijer do and I'm sure Giant Eagle does also.

Thanks!!! I didn't know I could use my debit card. Already had my Target Visa Credit Card, but didn't realized 1/2% using it at other places too!

Just added it to my card. We only have 13 folks for our school. I will spread the word this school year coming up. Thanks for the info. :)
