Just read on FB that most attractions at MK are shut down right now due to an air compressor systems issue. First post about it was over an hour ago. I wouldn't want to be working the Guest Services desk about now.

I have no idea what an air compressor system is, but if the attractions are shut down, it's probably a safety precaution. I'd hop over to EPCOT. Are Jeff and Val still at MK?

I suspected that there was a pneumatic component to some attractions but I didn't realize that the MK was so dependent on it, especially the dark rides.

Here is what happened-

LAKE BUENA VISTA --
Walt Disney World confirmed a power outage briefly shut down some attractions at the Magic Kingdom late Tuesday morning.

According to a Disney spokesman, an air compressor lost power, shutting down some rides at the theme park.

The spokesman did not immediately specify which attractions lost power, but said no guests were stranded on any rides.

Disney said all attractions at the Magic Kingdom were back up and running shortly before noon.

Gee Bill, did you trip over a wire or something?

Yea, something came unplugged, but no one will notice.

ROFL!! I am sure that was a 480volt, 3 phase Compressor. If Bill tripped over those, he would be in a world of hurt.

Big Air compressors!!!

Actually, we were there about then. It appeared that Splash & Big Thunder were temporarily down when we walked through that area. But it was very brief because they were running again before we got off Tom Sawyer Island.

We weren't doing any attractions at the MK - I was just there to shot some pictures with my new camera - so we wouldn't have noticed any significant disruption in the rides.
