On our next trip my yougest girl will be two weeks shy of her 3rd b-day (yes, that's one of the reasons we picked that date :smooth: ). I'm taking a stroller for her and even though she is not small, she is not as big as her sisters were at that age. My concern is that people (CMs) won't believe she's not 3 yet and doesn't need a ticket . Should I bring her passport everyday to the parks? Any other suggestions?

We wondered the same thing during our trip, but no one even gave us a second glance upon entering the parks or eating at the buffets. DS was also just shy of his 3rd B-day, and is not small for his age, he is a little over 40 inches with his shoes on.

Our son will be 3 at the end of January. We just got back from Disney and worried about this too. He is VERY verbal. He is also over 40 inches and even rode Big Thunder Mountain! But no one ever questioned his age once. When we went to MVMCP, he stuck his arm out for the wristband, and the CM gave him one! He didn't want to be left out, and the CM said, "I'm not supposed to do that, but he's so cute, how could I tell him no?" We did take a copy of his birth certificate with us, but never got it out.

We have never ever been questioned and we have taken both our children just before and other less reputable "just....." times.

Another one here who has never been questioned. We had ds there just a month shy of his 3rd birthday, and he was also very tall for his age...would easily pass for an older 3, if you ask me. But, no one even asked. :flower:

I don't have personal experience with actually entering the parks, but my son was not quite three when I BOOKED my upcoming trip back in October. I booked through the WDW phone number and THREE different CMs absolutely refused to issue DS a ticket. This was in October, his birthday is in November and our trip is in January. The third time I called (in Oct) I insisted the CM ask her manager. She came back to the phone and told me that if I just kept my mouth shut I could save some money. She insisted that noone would ask his age.

I did end up buying him a ticket, but I had to wait until after his birthday in November. If the actual Disney employees went to such lengths to prevent me from buying my THREE-YR-OLD a ticket, I can't imagine you'll have ANY trouble with a genuine two-yr-old!!!!

Wow! In that case I guess I really won't have any problem at all!

Thanks for all the answers!

This sounds like something I would do. I wouldn't be able to have a good time if I felt like "thief" or "liar" was written on my forehead. Besides, I'm a horrible liar...my face turns white and then I get flushed. So, I just tell the truth. (And, just so you know, honesty is not always the best policy in an instance when a social lie would be much better. :rotfl: )

My DS will be 2 months shy of 3 when we take our WDW Christmas trip next year, so I was worried about this too. He's really, REALLY tall for his age already. But since we'll already have his birth certificate for the cruise right after WDW (haven't decided on passports yet), we should be okay. But, once he's 3, he'll have his own pass AND pay for his own buffets.

What happens if your child turns three during your trip? :confused3 We will be checking in on 9/7 and our DS will turn 3 on 9/8? Thanks!

We went to WL for my DD 3rd birthday - she actually turned three the last day of our visit.

The CMs nicely told us that what matters is the beginning of the trip. Doesn't matter if the child turns 3 the 2nd day, just as long as at check in, they are 2. No one looks for a birth certificate.

We made a point of taking our kids at the exact same age - my boys 3 years ago and by dd just last month. both times I took a photocopy of their birth certificates just to be on the safe side, and both times I was never asked.

I was never asked either and DS def looked three when he was two. My insurance was that if anyone asked how old he was, he would tell them he was either 7 or 11 and clearly those were not the right ages. (He just liked the way they sounded, I think.)

Don't worry about it. I have never been asked to show proof of age for any dc. Save the $$$ for the next trip.

Our Twins are just 3 now

We did not get asked their age at any of the parks whilst there earlier this month or whilst there in October.

Talking them in the stroller is probably the best idea as it makes them look smaller anyway.
Plus, I think it would be a little silly for them to verify the age of such young children. Its not as if they can go on the big rides etc.

Don't worry about it! My DD will turn 3 in January and were just there over Thanksgiving. Most people never believe she is 2 because of how well she talks and how old she appears. We were never questioned by anyone about her age. Not a single time. We were actually worried about it because we forgot the photocopy of her birth certificate at home.

I'm sure Disney know some people are less than truthful about their children's ages but it's probably a lot less trouble to just not question it and let the little ones in if they appear to be close to 2.

Thanks so much for starting this thread. I have been so worried about this, we are leaving on Sun. with our twin boys who are almost 3 as well. This takes some of that worry away! Thanks.

I did much the same with DD3 in May. Her 3rd birthday was June 22 and I had the opportunity to take her to WDW for a quick trip a few weeks before. I had a copy of her birth certificate (and her adoption papers) just in case we were challenged, but we never were. I would take a copy of your DD's birth certificate just for your piece of mind, but you will probably never need to show it.

I worried so much about being asked dd's age this trip (she turns 3 in a month and we have been referring to her as a "big 3-year old girl" so often lately that I worried about what she or her 5 yo brother would say if asked) that I took her birth certificate. As during past trips, no CM ever asked her age. The only folks that ever ask are fellow guests. One was rather rude about it this past summer...and dd did NOT look older than her age of less than 2 1/2 at that time!
