I had the opportunity to tour the brand new Allure of the Seas cruise ship from Royal Caribbean. I took some photos I'd like to share with you. I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks for sharing the photos, Mike. Maybe I'll sail on Oasis or Allure some day - when my reason for cruising is to enjoy the ship...and the prices come down!

It's definitely not for everyone. I wouldn't take my mom on it, for example, but I think my nephews would love it.

i love the look of the adult pool area....disney could have taken a lesson there..

does it have a concierge area?
i think if it has a concierge lounge i would love it - then i could have the quiet secluded area when i want and also all those amazing public venues to enjoy when i want...

i forgot to mention that - those touch panels definitely look helpful!!!
i wonder if they're helpful in practice...

How many passengers are on the Allure on a sold out cruise?
more than the Disney Dream?
there sure seems to be a lot more to do on the Allure than the Dream...

the Dream seems a bit light on night activities for adults (other than drinking, which isn't really an activity)...

Our local TV station sent a local celeb and a group of people and did a one hour special on this ship. There were a bunch of old people (of course) and they're all saying things like, "It's wonderful!" and "We had the best time!"

Then one old guy says, "Well, if you get on the ship with too much money, they can help you with that."

I've been looking into cruises lately and had no idea there were so many cruise lines...with different ships...and itineraries...

It's kind of overwhelming.

I didn't go on a trip, Lyn ... just a ship tour.

How many passengers are on the Allure on a sold out cruise?
more than the Disney Dream?

The Allure carries about 6000 passengers when full. The Dream carries about 4000 guests.

that's WAY too many for me....4,000 is too many for me...
actually, 2,500 is too many for me....but 6,000??????????????????
i wonder if all those cool looking things get terrible crowded...or get terribly long lines..

ok...i'll pass on the allure...

i think that what i really need in my old age rolleyes is one of those smaller luxury ships...though i wonder how stable they are....
or maybe, a big ship like the epic, but with really nice concierge areas, so that i can get away from the crowds....

but then, i don't have time for any kind of ship....maybe when i get to be really really old, i'll have some time..

Beth, I don't know you personally, but from what I know about you, I'd recommend Holland America Line or Celebrity Cruises. You'd enjoy those, I think.

Your kids, on the other hand, would probably love the Allure.
