Allure Flooring?

Has anyone used this product? I'm in desperate need for new floors in my kitchen, hall and powder room. My DH promised my wood but I doubt that will even happen. Too much involved with needing to take out the cabinets which would mean new counters, new back splash... otherwise they say that the dishwasher will be trapped.

Anyway, this product looks pretty real. I have a lot of kids in my house and my youngest DD is in a wheelchair. I'm wondering how it will hold up to this type of use.

I found it at Home Depot but I'm not sure if other places sell it as well. The official name of what I'm looking at is Trafficmaster Allure Plank Flooring.

We have it in our bathrooms and entry way and we love it. It was easy to install and very easy to clean and is waterproof. My brother has it in his kitchen and it looks great. We currently have Pergo in our kitchen and my husband wants to pull it up and put down the allure because the pergo has been a nightmare in there. It warped because it got wet and we now hate it. We get water on the floor in the bathroom all the time and the Allure still looks great.

We have 13 cases of it sitting in our home right now. We are having the whole first floor of our home replaced, and the kitchen and bathroom is going to be the Allure flooring. We did originally see the product at HD. But the color that we like is internet only. It also happens to be commercial grade, it's the Cordoba. The flooring store that is installing our hardwood floors and carpet, are also installing the Allure.

Installation begins November 15, so I guess I will know how much I really like it then. It looks really pretty in the box!!!!

Oh, and Allure is exclusive to HD.

We love it! We started by putting it in our kitchen. It fooled my very picky SIL who remarked how nice our "new wood floors" looked. We HAD to do something with our LR, long hallway and entryway. I did not want carpeting again and we did not want to put out the money for wood floors. We decided to go with the Allure throughout and it really looks nice. PLUS, it is so easy to clean and it is waterproof (a bit plus in my book, because none of us are terribly careful about water on the floor). We have a 140 lb. St. Bernard and I was a bit worried about her nails scratching it, but that has not happened. And the cost was FAR less than any other flooring for the amount of area we were covering. We installed the kitchen ourselves, but decided to have Home Depot install the rest. It looks great. I keep worrying about whether it will be a negative when we go to sell, so I am glad to hear others are using it in large areas. But at least it would be very easy to take up to install something else.

We put the oak plank allure in our basement. It looks fine there, but you can see lots of scuff marks on the floor. I read a lot of people have this problem on the gardenweb.com website. It looks fine, but not like real wood.

My sister uses Allure flooring in all her rental units because it stands up so well to trafffic/tenants. It looks really good too!

It looked beautiful initially, but now it's embarrasing. We want to replace it, but haven't been able to find anything that we can replace it with. This sounds like what I've been looking for. I almost don't care what it looks like as long as it's waterproof! (yeah, I *do* care what it looks like, but anything's better than what we have now. )

Yes, because it is vinyl. I just know how we are and wood floors would not work for us. Go check it out at your local Home Depot and see it in person. I also like the feel of it under bare feet or sock feet.

Have it in our kitchen. We got it at Home Depot. We have the Corfu design. It is a lighter one that looks like ceramic tile.

We love it. It was very easy and it went right over our old 1960's kitchen flooring.

what's the difference between Allure and Pergo?

How do they compare pricewise?

Pergo is laminate; Allure is vinal.

Pergo is about twice the price, give or take, depending on what grade you choose.

The room we did in laminate (the one I want to replace) cost over $2000. Allure would be about $800 for that room. This is with DIY installation.

Please note we have three other rooms done in laminate which look great, and overall I love laminate, it holds up to heavy wear from kids and pets, but it does NOT do wetness! Trust me! Liquid seems down into the seams, the flooring absorbs it, and then it looks like total crapola.

So if Allure will really withstand liquids, I'm off to buy it! I actually called Home Depot about it tonight!
