Alltel phone service at FW

We will be changing to Alltel from Nextel right before our trip in June. I will be using my phone as my modem for my computer while at FW. How is the Alltel service there? My Nextel serice has been terrible every where since the Sprint Nextel merger. Thanks.

We've had AllTel for 10 years and have never had a problem with getting a signal at the Fort. Never used it as a modem, just straight phone service.

We have Alltel and use my wifes palm treo as a modem and it works fine at the Fort

I find the problems with Nextel reception to be a plus. Unfortunately, I never have a problem with my Nextel service at the Fort. I do have problems in most Texas state parks since most of them are far enough away from the interstates and cities to have very poor reception.

Oh, my Nextel phone happens to be my leash for work. Problems, what problems.

I have an AT&T personal phone and have never had an issue.

Never used Alltel though.

We switched from Nextel to Alltel recently and have not regretted it a bit. We get great reception at the fort, much better than the reception we had with Nextel. We always had spots with little or no reception. This is not the case with Alltel. I can't praise them enough.

Been with Alltel for about 18 months after switching from Nextel. I use my phone as a modem and had no problems at the fort last November. Found out during the fall of 06 on a trip through Mississippi that the northern half of that state has no Nextel service.
