Allowing enough time to get there?

I need some opinions. Our plan is scheduled to get to Orlando at 2:00 pm. I made an ADR at Akershus for 5:15. We're staying at Pop. Is it realistiic to think that we can make it there?

By "get to Orlando", do you mean land at the airport at 2pm? On 5/31, our flight landed at 2, we were checked into our room at Pop by 4, and arrived at epcot around 5pm. So I would say it is possible.

If you're scheduled to land at MCO at 2, and you're taking ME, I'd say that it's going to be tight to be in a park and ready for a 5:15 reservation.

I normally figure 1.5-2hrs between landing and getting in your room. Then you have another 30-45 minutes of travel time on top of that to get to the park, and then another 10-15 minute walk just to get to Akershus. Using the higher end estimates, this puts you there right around 5pm, just in time to check in, but you will have been going and going since you landed, and if the flight is delayed by just a little, it's going to miss.

Since Akershus is a CC-held reservation, if you miss it, you're going to be charged. With that in mind, I'd at least try and push it back by at least an hour (6:30+) or try for a different day.

If you arrive at MCO and pick up a rental car there, you can save some time if you split up.

We always do this and usually are driving out of the airport about 30 min. from the time we left the plane. My friend goes to the baggage claim and I go directly to the rental booth in the parking lot (you usually need a frequent renters card from the rental company you get the car from, otherwise you probably have to line up at the counter on the ground floor first, but membership is free). By the time I get to the pick up lane my friend is already waiting with both our luggage and we are ready to go. Then about 30-45 min. to get to WDW, so I would say if everything works out you can make it from the plane to your hotel in just over an hour, just takes some planning.

you will be cutting it very close. I would try to get a reservation a little later. the last thing you want is to miss your adr and be charged for it.

It happens to the best of us. When you look at the time your flight arrives, 3 hours seems like a lot of time. But when you start figuring in, taxiing, deboarding, getting to ME, getting to Pop, checking in, waiting for the bus and traveling to EPCOT, then walking through EC to get to Akershus, that three hours disappears quickly. You made a good move by canceling, since Akershus has a CC hold. If something got delayed and you had to miss the ADR, it would start the trip off on a bad foot. My girlfriend and I have really liked Les Chef's in the past, so that is a good choice, IMO, as well.
