Alligators and snakes???

We had a snake pass right in front of us on the sidewalk leading up to Typhoon Lagoon. Personally, I was more concerned with the giant, mutant grasshoppers!

I live in Louisiana, and I've seen mutant bugs (I'm not even kidding, spiders mixed with crickets...ughhhhh)...but I have NEVER seen Mosquitoes as big as there are in Florida.

We have seen the tops of alligator heads on the monorail headed over to Epcot in the small bodies of water under the monorail tracks.... So far no snakes and I hope it stays that way.

I guess I have a question about the gators too......if they are all over wdw then how is it safe to go water sking in the ponds and lakes?

Being from the coast of NC I can tell you, any body of water in the south has a snakes and gators in it. We use to water them in the ocean at the mouth od the Cape Fear River.

I use to tell my kids, The lord made the ocean for the sharks to swim in, and he made pools for us to swim in.

I'm from southern Louisiana and have been swimming/skiing in gator/snake infested waters all my life. Not saying that it still doesn't give me the "heebie-jeebies" if I think about it too long. But, usually they don't stay around where boats are flying by all the time. I've never seen one near me when I was in the water skiing. Yes, it can be an eerie feeling after you've fallen and are floating around waiting for the boat to circle and come get you again. :rotfl: Honestly, I hear more stories of sharks biting surfers than gators biting skiers.:confused3 And for some reason I STILL want to surf!:)
