In the water right next to the wooden walkway. Just hanging out hoping for a drumstick or hotdog.
I wanted to take a picture, but was shooed away by a CM - the gator was attracting too much attention and clogging up the pathway around the parade campers....

Welcome to Florida! :goodvibes

I wouldn't be surprised if he disappeared overnight.

:scared1: *gasp*

Now what would Louie the alligator from PATF think? The poor dear probably just wants to play his horn with the big boys!

:lmao:

Im sure e was jut moved to a more gator friendly safer location!! !! NEVER feed oneno mater where u see it at!!

I think it's reasonably common - when we were there in October last year there was quite a crowd gathered on the walkway just before the evening parade and we saw that everyone was looking at a small alligator swimming around and eating the popcorn that people had dropped in the water (no one feeding it, just stuff that had been dropped in previously). I noticed someone posting on here a few months ago about seeing an alligator in the water around Tom Sawyer island.

We saw a HUGE one hanging out by one of those little ponds on the side of the road on our way back from AK. It was after the BB stop. But he was a big one! For us northerners that was a highlight of our trip ;)

Did you notice if it only had 3 legs? Last November there was a 3 legged one swimming around the smoking section on the walkway. Few days later it was suning itself on the bank of Tom Sawyers Island just down from the raft landing? Was wondering if it was still in the river or had been moved?

From what I heard that's the unofficial pet of frontierland cm's

I was a CM in Frontierland about 10 years ago and saw a few during my summer internship. I remember specifically one night working crowd control for Spectromagic, a bunch of guests kept coming up to me and telling me there was an alligator in the river. I think one guest seriously expected me to go in there and move it or something. Like that was going to happen - I'm about 5'2" and 100 pounds, lol. Unless things have changed, I was never told about any procedures to relocate them or anything. We pretty much just left them alone.

I think this guy was a juvenile, maybe two feet long or so. He was just floating and looking at us. I saw his front feet, but not his back, so I don't know if he was missing a leg.
I was joking that they'd probably relocate him to the alligator section of living with the land.,,, but I hope not. I hope they just left him alone - he didn't seem like a threat.

We saw one hanging out while riding a bus leaving the Animal Kingdom.

I would assume they're around quite a bit, we just don't always see them :)

He was waiting for his fastpass return time for Splash Mountain. He didn't want to go to far or he would miss the one hour time window! :lmao:

Ok, my friends are saying he was closer to 4 or 5 feet long - so what do I know....

When I was a CP oh about 10 years ago we were told if there is an open body of water like a pond or whatnot then chances are there is a gator. Even if it is a resort swimming pool. One of the guys who lived across from me was a lifeguard at Stormalong Bay and one morning he was chased up a tree by a baby gator.

I'm always hearing about alligators near Tom Sawyer Island. I have a pretty wild fear of those beasts. Both disgusted and fascinated by them. I hope I won't see any during my trip.
