I know I am way behind the times about the restaurant that replaced Allfredo's in EPCOT some time ago...is it Tutti Italia? At any rate, I remember all the hoopla when it first opened about how incredibly expensive it was so I pretty much tuned it out and it has been off my radar.

Recently, while trying to make dining ressies, I see that the prices have lowered somewhat. Did they change their menu and/or lower their pricing? I must have missed that thread(s)!

Can anybody tell me what it is like now? We loved the old Allfredo's. We are considering this for our trip in early May.

Thanks!

I wanted to answer, only because I truly enjoyed our meal at Tutto Italia. Now, we never went when it was Alfredo's, so I can't compare. However, at TI we found the pasta was fresh and excellent, both the sauces on the hubby's and my meal were divine, the service was very quick and responsive (and very Italian). When I inquired about a specific type of olive in my appetizer, the server actually had the chef come out and chat with me about some unique olives regional to Italy and he shared some other "samples". It was a wonderful experience - and if our budget permits this time around, we'll be going back :goodvibes

The restaurant serves family style, dont they?

That's why I thought the prices were higher...

If it's not family style then its a ripoff. No one should pay $24 for penne with tomato sauce. I dont care who cooks it! They wouldnt even charge you that in NYC!

But, like I said, I thought I heard it was served family style.

Was not family style back in December 2007... can't comment on the current status.

Well, then its way overpriced!

I'm not cheap, but it would be a principle thing. It's pasta afterall!

I'm Italian, so I get great pasta when my mother cooks! It's rare that we eat pasta out, unless we are at a very fine Italian restaurant. I dont consider many of the WDW owned restaurants to be "fine dining," except for V&A and Bistro de Paris if that is the upstairs one in France.

I dont mind paying a ton of money for a prime steak!

But, for penne with tomato sauce $24 seems ridiculous! I just dont see how it could be worth it...

We ate there in April and the food was very good. I like my Italian food . It's all I know & cook. :rotfl2: It's no commerical type. I can't help you with the prices cause we were on the PlatPlan. You will like it there. :cool1: Service is excellent to :thumbsup2

They no longer serve the "family" meal. It's very pricey for those not on a dining plan, however the food is very good. No fetucchini alfredo though, and I miss that. Even thought some waiters were in training, the service was excellent each time we've been there (two other times for dinner on previous visits).

We had lunch there in December on the DDP, but the meal before tip (entree, beverage, dessert) was over $60 for two and we both had pasta!

If you enjoyed Alfredo's you will really love Tutto. Hubby and I always excellent meals and service at Alfredo's (it was the number one money making restaurant in EPCOT after all, so a lot of people loved it).

Tutto is fabulous as well. Great menu, no more pricey than any other place around disney property. We had a great meal and service this past fall.

I couldn't believe you were saying it was cheaper than before -- but now I see the error in your thinking! It's definitely not family style, it is definitely overpriced just like every on-property restaurant at WDW, but we had the best meal of our trip there in December. The food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. I loved the dessert sampler - it was ridiculously priced - maybe $14 if I recall right. But yummy!

We went there as part of the Candlelight Processional package so it was a fixed price meal, but I would definitely go back (and we pay OOP for all of our meals, we don't do the dining plan).

We ate there in December of 08. It wasn't family style at that point, but the food was very good. My fiance said the dessert there was her favorite dessert of our entire trip and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We were on the dining plan, so I can't really comment on the price, but it would have been an expensive meal had we not been on the dining plan.

Dont get me wrong, I know everything at WDW is overpriced. I expect it to be somewhat.

I mean $35 for a steak at Le Cellier is overpriced, but I'm not sure what the size is... But, it's still a steak and you're at WDW so I can see that. Although, it's not prime or anything like that. Just a normal steak. You pay much more for prime.

But, $24 for pasta with tomato sauce is just ridiculous!!!

Now, if it has seafood in it or something its one thing...but, it's just tomato sauce!!!

Sorry for the rant. Again, I dont mind paying for food. I'll pay $70 for a big prime steak! I just find this crazy.

Hi

would people pick Tutto Italia or Mama Melrose's .. if they could only go to one Italian restaurant at wdw during a vacation?

I'm currently ADR-planning for this summer's trip - and as DBF's mom requested we go to Olive Garden while in Orlando (!) .. I promised that we would go to a better Italian restaurant on property!!

Thanks

I've frequently heard Mama Melroses compared to Olive Garden (I haven't been there myself). Of course, I think someone said that about Tutto too one time. Anyway, based on what I've heard about MM and my own experience at Tutto, I'd say Tutto.

Tutto hands down is better in my ITALIAN:rotfl2: opinion .

We've considered TI, but haven't tried it yet. The way I see it.... What's not to love, if you're on the DDP or another package? It's an incredible value. On the other hand, the menu is overpriced (even for Disney standards) for those paying OOP to make up what they lose on DDP guests. Some of us know better, but there's many guests who don't know the menu prices before sitting at the table. FWIW, I feel the same way about Le Cellier's filets. We'll pay $3 more for a filet at a signature restaurant.

We ate at TI in Oct of 08..the food was wonderful (but pricey) and the service was OUTSTANDING. Hands down the best service we had in WDW. We were on the dining plan which is why the prices didn't bother us. The kids meals came with an appetizer (FRESH friend mozzarella that was oh so yummy).

Someone canceled our dinner ressie for 7 ppl (not me so I have no clue who, maybe a computer glitch) and they sat us 10 mins after our orginal ressie time.

When we go back I plan on going back!

Hi Barbie,

I would definately go with Tutto over Mama Melrose.

The food at Tutto is excellent. The prices may be high, but if I were given the choice of the $25 penne at Tutto or the $10 penne at the resort food court, I would pay for the penne at Tutto.

We went in Oct and the menu was totally different than what is posted online...I even emailed allearsnet the new one but they never posted it.

The food was still amazing and the prices were roughly the same but it did look like dessert prices came down a bit
