Allergy testing?

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear things are moving forward and you're starting to get some answers. Best of luck and have fun at WDW!

I plan to. I wish the food testing was done because honestly, I could give up sugar easier than giving up wheat. I was looking forward to a pretzel dog at DHS.

I went off wheat about a month ago, after reading that it helped some folks with eczema breakouts/hives, but for a carb addict it's literally killing me. :rotfl: I only react to one other food that I know of but my PA wanted me to try a few others. (one of which is Soy :scared: I'm in trouble if that turns up because Soy Sauce if pretty much my favorite condiment. I'm on the hunt for a decent non-wheat one this weekend)

I was itchy yesterday (the worst was the stupid control patch I don't know what they use but it felt like a million ants) and ended up with a pretty bad headache, but I got to take a Claritin this morning and I feel fine. I'll pick up a RX for Singular after work. I'd just a soon this worked because I'm not sure I'm dedicated enough for the immunotherapy routine.

Just an update as I have now done the second round of testing which was the food portion. (delayed due to work had the testing this morning) No injections this time just a simple scratch test on my inner arm.

I tested positive to Strawberry and Pineapple. This may just be a raw food reactions but I was told to avoid these, or be careful when I try them in other forms to have an epi pen handy.

I had borderline results for wheat, buckwheat, oat, rye, dairy and egg. :scared1: I was told to avoid these (as they are probably the main cause of the massive eczema/rash problems) most of the time if not all the time. I am not sure what I will do with these. Probably avoid as much as possible.

I tested neg to fish/shellfish (which I don't eat anyway  ) walnut, peanut, soy and barley. So at least I can keep peanut butter and soy sauce and nuts which I love. Plus I have a soup that is a goto guick meal that contains barley so at least I have a few easy things to eat.

Dairy will be hard. I'm not opposed to unsweetened almond milk which I have had and like well enough. But I tend to eat cheese, yogurt, and regular milk a lot. I love dairy. I also had found some things that I liked that contained buckwheat that replaced some items I couldn't have avoiding wheat.

I'm kinda depressed at the moment, but at least now I know what to avoid, what to cut back to minimum and what is safe.

The allergist also changed my inhaled steroid, gave me a rx for nasonex (I tried a sample and it worked fine) and an epi pen, which I think is overkill but I'll travel with it and keep it in my work bag just in case.

Anyway just wanted to finish out the story. Thanks for the info earlier.
