Not necessarily. When I took my son, they tested him right then and there!

That would be even better. In the meantime the doctor at the hospital gave me a prescription of Prednisolone. I should've never read the side effects.

Okay, I don't want to step in and interfere with your doctor BUT in order to get accurate allergy testing, the patient must be off all antihistamines and steriods for a few days prior to testing. You could easily get false negatives if you are using these drugs/medications prior to testing.

Make sure that if you are going to use those meds on your daughter that you tell the allergy. My guess is that they won't do the testing until those meds are out of her system.

My daughter had a simple panel done--they took some blood and then tested for the 5 most common allergies. She is allergic to cats and mold.

Her issues were simply sinuses though and an annoying "snort" (that thing you do when you can't blow your nose yet you try to clear things out). She was tested when she was 5.

DS is scheduled to have the testing done next week. I was going to post that I would let you know how it went for him but his appointment is also next Wednesday. I hope it is not too bad for them.

Christine, thanks for letting me know that. Maybe I'll just hold off on the meds as long as she's breathing okay.

Update....

The allergist is sending her for pulmonary testing for asthma. He said it could be allergies, but he recommends the pulmonary testing first. He also changed her medicine to Singulair.
