Allergy related ? re: frying oil at Cooke's of Dublin

We recently have discovered that my partner has a severe allergy to most seafoods. This has put a bit of a damper on how adventurerous this F&W festival trip is going to be, because despite her lifelong dislike of almost all seafood items, she was going to try to be more open minded and try some new things during our vacation. :guilty:

One item that we have both wanted to try, since we heard that it was offered at WDW is the "Doh-Bar" Fried Candy Bar at Cooke's of Dublin, whose primary food offerings focus on seafood. :eek: Does anyone know if they have a separate fryer that they use only for the Doh Bars, or do they fry the scallops, fish, fries, and Doh Bars in the same oil? If anyone knows, or has an idea of who to call and ask, I would love to hear from you. TIA Maggie

I'm sorry I don't know the answer. I would hope they use separate fryers, not just for allergies, but who wants a Doh-Bar that tastes like cod? :eek: Raglan Road has a website. They also run Cookes. I think it's www.raglanroadirishpub.com. You could try contacting them to find out for sure. Good luck to your partner with the allergies. My kids have them, so I know how hard it is sometimes to make sure everything they eat is safe. When you make ADRs, don't forget to mention them. The Disney chefs are great about making accomodations.

I would like to think too they use separate deep fryers.
 

Thanks for the website link. I am 99% sure that it should be cooked in a different frier, but that 1% is buggin the crude outta me. I really would hate for Gabby to get ill because I didn't ask the question. I have sent an email to them to ask the question.

This allergy thing is new to her, so I am trying to make sure that everything goes smoothly. Thanks again! Maggie
 
DD and I ate at Cooke's last year - yum! We didn't notice if the candy bars were prepared in a different fryer or not - but they didn't taste like fish. They were yummy! If it were me, I'd call them directly and ask.

Email failed to garner a response, so I called tonight. The answer is that the fried candy bars are indeed fried in a separate frier. So, we are good to go on the Doh Bars!
