I was wondering what you guys R allergic to? I am allergic to , mold , mildew, cigarette smoke, oak, pine, maple, ragweed, , and pollen, pet dander, and dust.

Have you used your Nebulizer yet?
I have found that if I take it in the morning, I wake up 1 hr before I normally would, take it and go to sleep. It makes me VERY tired, and it gives me the shakes. I think it depends on what the medication you are using it with though. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help!
Also, which inhalers are you on? When I was young, they put me on a steroid inhaler-which actually is most likely responsible for stunting my growth! But don't worry-the steroid inhalers they have now (like Advair) are designed to stay in your lungs and not travel into other parts of your body, so they're a lot safer. If you are on any steroid inhalers, make sure to rinse your mouth after you take them!

I don't have any allergies, but I have sports induced asthma. I take my inhaler before doing like hard core basketball or running. It always acts up when it's really hot and humid out. I've had it since freshman year and I know how to control it now, but every once in a while it gets to be too much and I start to hypervenelate...not the coolest thing in the world.

I don't have either one. I used to asma when I was younger and when I dances. I'm not allergic to anything

I have seasonal allergies and asthma... and i HATE it!

I have not used my nebulizer yet. my neb. med is Nasacort AQ. I have used both of my inhalers though. Those are Advair and Albuterol. Why do the inhalers taste so bad? Also how do you use a peak flow meter . My Dr. didn't really explain how to uuse it, only when to use it.
The inhalers taste bad because of the medication in them, which is one reason to rinse your mouth! You get used to it though, I promise. Let me know how you do with the nebulizer. I use an albuteral solution, so you might not have the problems I stated.
Make sure you rinse your mouth after the Advair, that DOES contain steroids.
The peak flow meter is pretty simple...
You just put it together, make sure the meter is all the way at the bottom, take a deep breath, put it in your mouth and exhale as hard as you can. Do it a few times, and average the readout. This is your reading. Your Dr. should have given you a standard goal. It basically just judges when you're having rough days and what not. I'll be happy to answer anything else :) Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss it off board! I also have AIM-MandaKat1219

i have seasonal allergies along with being allergic to ciggarette smoke, feathers, and dog hair

i also have asthma

my asthma acts up the most during phys ed and other activities when i'm running around, but sometimes i'll get an asthma attack from nothing. one time in phys ed we had to run a mile and i got a really bad asthma attack and i couldn't even talk. i had to go straight to the doctor for a nebulizer. sometimes when i'm sick and have a cough it will act up too, and then i have to be on a nebulizer and albuterol. i'm on an inhaler called maxair. i used to take advair but it made me too shaky so i got taken off of it. i also take singulair for my asthma, but it doesn't seem to help much. i have to do the peak flow every day 3 times a day and its pretty low right now so i might have to go on different medications. what is your average peak flow? for my allergies i take clarinex and it really helps.

the best thing you can do for asthma is to keep getting lots of exercise!:jumping3:

I just had a nebulizer treatment, I hate the way they make you feel all jittery, but because I didn't take them, my sinus infection has gotten way worse. They actually think that I might have had Whooping Cough. I have reactive airways, which basically means that anything where my lungs work overtime, tightens my airways. And I'm basically allergic to the outdoors.

My friend is sick too, so I took my nebulizer over to her house and we did our treatments together:) we had a little nebulizer party. We are such asmatic dorks.

:smooth:

I am allergic to a lot of things.

dust, pet dander, smoke, and a lot more.

Recently on Christmas Day of 2003, I was in the hospital because of my asthma. Now I have to go to a special docter because of it in a childern's hostipal. I also had a couple of attacks in school which was very embarrassing. Oh well though.

I am also Lactose Introllerent. Which really stinks because everyone that I know looks at my like I am a freak because I can't have ice cream or anything with dairy. I mean I can have it I just have to take a lot of medicine before.
