Anyone else having a partcularly hard time with the pollen this year? I've never had it bother me as much as it has this year and I am SO tired of waking up in the morning with my nose all congested.. After a few hours it normally goes away, but during the night it causes "mouth breathing" - which leaves me with a very scratchy throat when I wake up in the morning..

Yesterday I went to town and bought a box of those "Breathe Right" nasal strips that are supposed to relieve nasal congestion; reduce snoring; and provide cold & allergy relief.. Not quite as congested this morning, but not exactly the "miracle" I was hoping for - LOL.. Has anyone else used them for pollen issues? And if so, how did they work for you?

I'd really rather not used any other allergy products, but I'm really surprised that the pollen is bothering me as much as it is this year.. I'm not alone - lots of others up here complaining of the same problems..

How are the rest of you dealing with the pollen issues? :confused3

I haven't tried the strips. I, too, am suffering terribly this year. Much worse than any other year. I take benedryl every night before bed.

I hope someone writes in with some good suggestions.
HOw are you doing besides the allergies?

I tried those once. My dgf said it made me snore less but I didn't like having it on my nose. I have a very tickle sensitive nose. Now I've been using Flonase and that works great! I don't think it helps with the eyes as much as other OTC or perscripition medication but the Flonase does MUCH better for my nose that any OTC or perscription drug I've taken.

You're right about the pollen being especially bad this year. Normally spring and summer are my best times. It's the fall (ragweed) that usually gets me.

They do work well, but you need to use them for a while to stop the mouth breathing.

I'm doing good - thanks for asking.. :)

Funny thing about this pollen issue is that it doesn't seem to bother me at all during the day - and my eyes aren't affected at all - it's just the nasal congestion every night/morning and the scratchy throat in the morning that's driving me crazy..

I was hoping someone would say they would work better after I've used them awhile.. Got a box of 30 here, so we'll see what happens.. ;)

Try the Flonase. It works very well for almost everyone I know that uses it.

It's by perscription though.

Tried them and didn't do a thing for me.
I have BAD allergies and HATE them.
Yes, I am having a tough time now. I have been using meds off and on but I am going to go to an allergist again.
I can't stand it and my regular doc is just not cut out for allergies. I think it frustrates them because they never go away!!!:lmao:

I'm glad :goodvibes I've been praying.

I agree about the pollen issue. I have the worse trouble at night. during the day I am pretty much ok.....
