Just curious on what other's have done...
DS7 woke up with hives all over his cheeks the first night we were at POR last Thursday. He was fine otherwise and we thought maybe it was from the chicken wing sauce from Ohana the night before that he got all over himself LOL, so off to the parks we went...and the hives got better during the day. We didn't take any chances, though, so we went to the drugstore and bought benedryl, which we gave him at bedtime.
Next morning, hives again and a red rash all over his forearms (he sleeps on his stomach with his arms under the pillow. Uh-oh...parks, he was OK, mornings - rash and hives. OK, so it's something at the resort.
Next night, we wrap the pillow in DH's t-shirt. No hives on DS's face, but still red rash on his arms the next morning.
Next night, pillow is wrapped, and we put another t-shirt under the pillow. In the morning, no hives, very little rash on arms.
So, obviously, DS was allergic to something in the bedding. He has asthma, but no known allergies to anything else...no food, no seasonal, no nothing. Using DH's t-shirts worked, so we did that the rest of the trip.
When checking out, I mentioned it to the CM...I wasn't complaining and obviously I could have alerted them before check-out, but we figured there wasn't anything they could do about it anyway, DS was fine other than the rash and hives, and we LOVED it there and didn't want to cause a headache by taking time to finding somewhere else, etc.
The CM was super-nice, but even she said that there wouldn't have been anything they could have done. She didn't have any reaction when I stated the only reason I mentioned it was just in case DW tracks these types of issues to determine whether they need to change detergents, how many people have reactions, etc., which I can see that CM's are probably instructed not to comment due to liability issues, which is totally fine. She was still really sweet and nice. She did say she would note it.
What does everyone else do in these situations? Do you report it? To whom? I would think that the company would want to know about it?
Do you think that the CM note will go anywhere "official"?
