Anyone fly out of Plattsburg lately? I have so many questions and am hoping you will be able to help me. Any idea what the parking charge is per day? Are the flights usually full and should I pay for my seats.Once in Stanford FL, how big is that airport? How far is it from Disney and how long should I plan prior to departure from Florida to get to the airport?

I'm sorry for all the wuestions but I prefer as much as I can before I book with Allegiant once the new dates come out.

Thanks for your help

We flew Plattsburgh last October and had a really great experience. Parking at the Plattsburgh airport is free! It's a brand new terminal, but it's very small (2 or 3 gates). I think we were parked, checked in, through security and at the gate in less than 15 minutes. My wife says the airport reminds her more of a train station than an airport. The flight we took was almost full- we opted to pay for preselecting our seats, but skipped the priority boarding.

Once we got to Sanford (bigger than Plattsburg, but way smaller than MCO) it was an easy walk to pick up our luggage and get our rental car. The car rental desks are in a building across the street - maybe 100m from the terminal.

It took us about 50-55 minutes to drive from Sanford airport to All Star. The way I look at it, it's about 15-20 minutes longer to drive, but I more than make up for that in the time I saved at the smaller airport.

On the return trip, same thing but in reverse. 15 minutes from the time I parked the rental car until the time I was at the gate at Sanford.

When driving between the aiport and Disney, make sure you take Toll 417 instead of I4. It's definitely faster although you do have to pay a couple $ in tolls.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thank you VERY much. $ 3 is better then what I would pay out of Ottawa or even Syracuse. Glad to hear it's a really small airport. The only thing worrying me is the Sanford part. I love the ME but think I'll be saving more money by going that route then Syracuse to MCO.

The only issue there is that you are restricted to when they operate. Which can put a bit of inflexibility in your trip.

We just booked jetBlue out of SYR direct for less than 350 pp. I know the pricing can be beat at Platts, but flexibility can some times win out. In addition parking in the central (covered) lot at SYR is $10/day and I believe the outdoor lot is $8/day.

Depends on what you're looking for. When discussing rental cars - well that's another thing you can avoid needing by flying in to MCO - you have DME if staying on property. It's a nice bonus.

Just my 2 cents. Don't get me wrong - Platts is always on my radar if the price is insane and the dates work it's a potential option. But it would be more for a trip to SW FL for us - my folks have a place near punta gorda.

Thanks for the info had not thought of flying from there. Has anyone tried Vermont? A friend recently used there for Mexico and said the price was great.
