With this new airline coming to Portsmouth, NH, I am wondering if anyone has ever flown with them before??

Thank you!!

Trish

Here is a link to a thread about Allegiant. They are relatively new to Lansing, Michigan also. Friends and colleagues have flown them and said it was fine. You have to pay extra to get reserved seats -- I think it's $10. I'm thinking about using them in February, but they've not come out with the schedule yet.

My brother and SIL and family flew from Lansing to Sanford/Orlando earlier this month and had no problems. Of course it was the first time they EVER flew so they had nothing to compare but if I had the chance to use them I would in a heartbeat! )

I was just looking into this myself. I'm trying to keep my options open for Pres Week and I was wondering not only what people thought of the airline but also about the airport in Portsmouth as well

Thanks

Thanks for posting this...my DH is supervising a construction project at Pease and came home with the info today...I said "I've never heard of Allegiant, but I bet I can get some feedback on the DIS" ;)

Hope we can hear more from folks who have used this airline!

I just heard they were offering service from Portsmouth to Sanford in starting in October (the 28th, I think). I went on their website and many of their flights are $39 one way (intro price, probably) plus sec. fee etc. I priced out 3 adults Nov. 3-7 and it was $274.20. I didn't pruchase I was just pricing. They have packages and lots of add on options (park tickets, shows, tranfers, etc)

I'm hoping they do better than the experience we have had with PanAm. After using them ... I'm very cautious!

I wonder how they are with their maintenance.

We flew Allegiant Air in June to Sanford & had no problems at all. Flights were on time & the staff was very friendly. Only thing is they do not offer snacks unless you want to pay for them. So bring your own :goodvibes I was going to use them again for our trip in Oct. but Airtran came out with better prices & now I do not have to deal with transportation from Sanford(which was not a problem, but it will save me money this time).

I would prefer Sanford as I'm almost always staying at my house in Deltona which is about 15 minutes from Sanford, but Portsmouth is a little far from Carver.

The nice thing about Sanford (other than easy navigation and small crowds) is that National should have EA there now and if not , it will be there very shortly. Last time that I was at Sanford (April) the new National service center was well under construction and the agent said that they were looking to open it late August or early September.

I booked Allegiant Air from Lansing to Sanford for this December. I got round trip for $138. As the flight fills up, the rates will increase. Currently the flight I booked is up to $248, so book as soon as you can. I did not pay $10 extra to choose our seats. I contacted the airlines and they said that we should be able to get our seat assignments at the airport and be seated together. She said most people get their seat assignments at the airport. Lansing airport told me they've had very good luck with Allegiant Air and have not heard any complaints. My nephew just flew to Orlando and said the flight was fine, and almost everyone on the flight home was wearing mouse ears.
