Allegiant Air

Has anyone in Atlantic Canada used Allegiant Air to travel to Disney?
Pros/Cons?... I am thinking of using them maybe in 2013, and would like some feedback if possible.
They seem pretty cheap, and even with the drive from Hfx to Bangor, I would still save money..... any help would be great!

Thx Ted, nothing there that we don't really pay here.... no 'free bag' with Air Canada anymore.... so the other fees aren't something we would use....

They don't fly to MCO - Orlando International Airport, I believe they fly to Sanford, so you cannot utilize Disney's Magical Express, you'll need to arrange and pay for your transportation to Walt Disney World from the airport.

Actually Daver ... something about these guys scares me. Now, I'm cheaper than most people here, so I get caught up in the small stuff. When comparing to united and even aircanada etc, there are a few things that keep me away from allegiant.

Booking ... "Call Center Booking Fee (per person, per segment)
Customers that purchase travel through the Allegiant call center will be charged a call center booking fee. $14.99" What ... you mean if i call for 2 adults, 2 kids I gets charger 4 x $14.99 x 2 segments? $120 bucks?

Seat selection "Seat Selection Select your seat at the time of reservation.
$0.00 to $75.00" What does that mean? With United this is free.

We take carryons, to cut down on bag fees, We figure the 4 carryons save us at least $25 each way (using united bag fee prices).
Alligient would charge us.
"One (1) carry-on bag such as a roll-aboard bag, garment bag, or tote bag, not to exceed 25 pounds (11.34 kilos) in weight and exterior measurements of:
9 in. H x 14 in. W x 22 in. D (22.9 cm x 35.6 cm x 55.9 cm)
The fee for a carry-on bag ranges from $10 to $30 if booked in advance, and will be $35 if purchased at the airport. " Ouch!

Bag fees ... most airlines (except WJ, JB and SW) charge $25 per first bag. Allegiant charges $29.99 or $35 as below.

Drinks ... ie Pop or coffee, juice, These are free on United/Ac etc. You will be charged on Alligient.

Carrier Usage????? What's that!
"Carrier Usage Charge (per person, per segment) A per person, per segment carrier usage charge applies to all travel bookings made through the Web site and call center. This does not apply to purchases made at any of Allegiant's Airport Ticket Offices. $10.00"

To me this should like the costs could rise $20 (just higher bag fee and carrier usage) to $50 per person (previous plus getting hosed for extra bag fees, a pop, plus a call to their res office), per one way. This could really eat into your savings ...
