After looking at this airline I found really good rates for flight and hotel. Can anyone tell me about heir experiences with them.

I used Allegiant for booking a Vegas trip- didn't pay for any "extras" like seat selection etc. Had no issues- plane on time, food and drinks available for purchase...no issues at check in- basic plane but fine.

We are leaving next wed ( ) on Allegiant out of Bellingham returning Sat am- we got a flight and hotel (Castle Inn- holding my breath that it will be o.k as it seems to be a shunned hotel on dis- I didn't know this and will report back) for $180 per person taxes in!

There are both positive and negative experiences on here, I am hoping for a positive one! :cheer2:

I've flown on them 3 times and have been delayed each time.
The last delay was the worst...after a 3.5 hour delay in LAX airport, we finally get up in the air and then find out we couldn't land in Bellingham so had to re-route to Pasco, Washington as it was the closest airport that Allegiant was able to fly into. This was 11:00 at night so the airport was closed. There was no communication from the crew as to what was happening so we all ended up waiting in the airport for someone to come and talk to us. Finally, we found out they were putting us up in a hotel for the night but the cab company that was hired to transport us only had two cabs! Needless to say, it was a disaster. We finally did make it back to Bellingham the next day.

But, yes, their prices are definitely cheap at times.

We have flown Allegiant 5x in the past 4 years and have gotten great rates each time. Our most recent trip was to LA in January - with 4 people and 2 bags our total (with all the fees, etc) was only $650 - FABULOUS rate. The system as it is right now gives you the option to pay for choosing your seat - or flying without assigned seats. If you choose not to pay the extra fee for choosing your seat, just be very sure you are at the airport early. Due to road conditions in our home area, we were not early to the airport for the flight out and we got the left-over seats - splitting up the 4 of us (yes, even kids). I had one child in front of me and another 2 seats over. DH was 10 or so rows ahead of us. You would think passengers would shift to accommodate, but no. :confused3 Just something to be aware of.

We also had a 3 hour delay, which was not fun. However, most (if not all) Allegiant flights are direct, so even with a 3 hour delay, it was quicker overall than any other airline from here to there.

There are no free or included snack or drinks. IMO, not a big deal. You can either purchase snacks/food for $2-5 or bring your own. Purchase a soda in the airport (past security) and simply take it on board with you.

I guess you could say some of Allegiant's policies are a bit of an inconvenience, but we are okay with it and I'm sure we'll fly them again at some point. Now, if our home airport had Southwest or JetBlue, Allegiant might not be our first choice...

FYI... if you are looking for a cheap Allegiant flight, be sure to be checking every day (or multiple times/day) as they can change at the drop of a hat. Be ready to book, because the cheapest flights don't usually last very long. I seem to find the best rates when I look on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Also, there is a fee to book online or over the phone, so if you have the ability to do so, you can save $15/ticket by actually going to the airport to book the flight. However, at least with our airport, they only sell tickets when they are slow at the counter ... so not around the time a flight is going out. They only have limited staff and I guess they are boarding passengers, etc.

I have found the travel insurance worth it. We had to change our dates and were able to change our flights since we had the policy. Money well spent, IMO.

I have not booked hotels with them. Only flights. Good luck!

i have used allegiant many times to fly to vegas and have never had a problem. cheap flights, the crew is always funny. i recommend them.
we are using htem to fly into john wayne in april, it will be my first time flying with them there but i predict things will go smoothly :)
