So while waiting for SW fares I started looking around... found Allegiant air that flies out of Allentown in PA... non-stop flights for my days for $79 each way... anyone ever flown with them?? :goodvibes they have been the cheapest BY at least 350$ for my dates and non-stop flights! (with 3 kids this is a MUST for me!)

The only problem is that you are 50 miles from Disney and the ME does not pick up at Orlando Sanford International airport, You would have to find your own transportation.

My family and I used them in Jan. of 2006. We flew out of Springfield, MO into Sanford airport. We had absolutely no problems w/ them. All flights were on time and they were all nice and friendly. Also the plane was comfy. Although drinks and snacks were NOT included. You could buy them but since you have little ones you'd probably have treats in your purse anyway. We flew w/ them for $49 ea. person ea. way. What a steal! I would totally use them again. Hope this helps!

We found the drive to be very easy and not too long at all. We were going to rent a car anyway so not having ME was not a factor for us. To each their own. Have fun!

Crap I had no idea there were 2 airports in "orlando" Ummm gonna have to wait for SW fares to really decided now... well at least I found out BEFORE I bought the tickets! I didn't even look at the airport code :(

We flew Allegiant out of Kinston, NC to Sanford/Orlando and it was awesome. During slower times you can get fares for as low as $29 one way!

We did meet a couple at the airport who were flying back to Allentown and they loved it as well.

The planes were nice - leather seats, very clean and the Allegiant staff were all great to deal with...very friendly and accommodating.

The Sanford airport was maybe a 30 min. drive to WDW and it was really easy. It's a small airport, easy in/easy out with plenty of rental car agencies right there. I found the cheapest way to get a car was to use AAA and if you've got it, use it...and the car/booster seat rentals were free with AAA but you need to remind the car rental places about that.

OH - one more tip...don't pay for the full tank of gas option...we didn't even use a 1/8 of tank going back/forth to WDW so just put a few bucks in it somewhere close to the airport and you'll be fine.

I would highly recommend Allegiant though...and with the non-stop flights, it's even better. Word of caution, to get those cheap fares, you have to buy snacks and drinks so once you go thru security, buy your own!

Go for it!! Cheap, cheap cheap!! :thumbsup2

We flew out of Allentown back in August and really liked the airlines.
Had no problems and actually found their customer service to be wonderful.
Flying into Sanford for us was no big deal. We rented a car and off to WDW we were.
It took about 40 mins to get there.
Having two small kids, I understand the importance of cheap, non-stop flights:)

The Sanford Airport is not 30 minutes from Disney. Orlando (MCO) is about 30 minutes. Sanford (SFB) is approximately an hour if you get clear traffic on I-4 or take 417 the greenway.

I read someplace on here it takes 50 min with the ME to get to disney.. so I mean it's about the same travel time. I can go get the luggage while hubby goes get the car... that's really not a problem... I just really dont want to rent a car.. i'm looking at prices now... who would be the lowest? I think I got a quote from the airline it self for a little over 300$ for a minivan for our whole stay which really isn't horrible.. but if there is a better deal out there... I need to find it! (I dont like other's having more of my money!) I NEED a minivan we dont own one (yes we do fit 3 kids into a car nicely) BUT my grandmother is going with us her first trip to disney! SOOO that leaves us with no choice to get a minivan

You could pick up a car service for around $180.00 to $210.00 roundtrip which could include a grocery stop. No messing with a rental pick up or return.
