Just wondering if any members have used this airline before? For us they fly out of Niagara Fall NY but fly into Sanford or St. Pete's not MCO. They seem cheap and convenient so what the catch? baggage fee's must be high?

All comments appreciated.

I have used them quite a bit. I have always had a great experience. Other than the ticket everything is extra. Water, food, picking your seat. The bag fee is about normal. Every flight I have been on has had great service and I did not notice the absence of the extras.

We did this as well. Loved both airports. Yes the chg for everything extra but if the flight price is right it is worth it for convenience.

I've only used them in the States, but we had a fine experience. Kind of nice flying in and out of smaller airports. You get in and out so much faster!

We saved a lot of money by paying for our bags in advance. So pick how many you want and then stick with it. That was really helpful for me, I always overpack!

I did Sanford and loved it. Walk right out to pick up your car. I got the best price I have ever gotten on a rental from Alamo. $186.00 standard with an upgrade for 13 days.

from what I can see Sanford is a little cheaper that St Pete's. Thanks I will check it out

I've flown Allegiant several times out of Niagara Falls. Takes only a half hour drive for us from home and the small airport is easy to maneuver. We fly into Sanford, also a breeze to navigate and only about an extra 20 minute drive further than MCO to our condo. Only thing I've noticed is that there are now far fewer options (dates) when flying Niagara to Sanford. As a result, we generally fly Southwest out of Buffalo.

We only use allegiant when going to Florida ....We fly out of Maine or NH.

SFB and PIE are both small airports ......easy to find your way around.

They are both 40 - 60 minutes from the "Disney" area

I find the drive from sanford a little better ......could be that I simply have driven it more.

Rental cars seem to be a little cheaper out of PIE

They are no Frills.....Baggage costs are on par with other airlines ....picking your seat has a fee.....i think it has gone up .....they wanted as much as $24/seat(depends on where you are on the plane).....

They do offer severe discounts on Rental cars when you book your flight.

If you dont care where you sit and dont have extra baggage the price you see is pretty well what you pay

I've used them too. If you're alright with slightly cramped seats, they're fine. Its a trade off -- saving money with a bit of inconvenience. Oh, and they nickel and dime you for everything.

We have flown Allegiant from Fargo to LA for our Disneyland trip. We got an amazing package deal. Air car and hotel. (all that for the less than just airfare flying from Canada) the little extras were fairly priced, similar to other airlines. service was excellent.

I'll also add their seats do NOT recline. So you don't need to bring a Knee Defender.

Yes, pay attention to their fees...
-carry's on have fees
-1st and 2nd piece have fees
-if you show up with additional luggage... they DOUBLE the luggage fees. You must PREDICT how much luggage you will be bringing when booking your ticket.
-if you over predict your luggage.... you will NOT get a refund. It feels like you place bets on your luggage.
-instead of 50lbs on your luggage... it's 40lbs! I think most luggage is 10lbs itself!
-if you buy their insurance, you are guaranteed a flight..... if there is a service interruption, those that did buy the insurance get on the next plane... you need to wait. This happened when the main plane had mechanical issues and the replacement plane was too small.

Yes luggage the main reason I avoid the stress of Alligient. While cheaper, that extra unpredicted bag puts your ticket similar to regular airlines.
