Wow. Thank you for posting this. I've been struggling with fatigue, inability to lose weight (despite training for marathons, biking, and going to the gym on a regular basis), and hair loss. Tests for polycystic ovaries and hypothyroid always come back as normal. I think the next time I see my doc, I'll mention this to her. It'd be great to finally break out of this sleepy fog I feel like I'm always dealing with.

Do you see a regular MD or an Endocrinologist? My MD kept telling me I was normal but when I asked to be sent to an Endo thats when I found out what my problem was!Endo's seem to do a different battery of tests then the MD's do! Just make sure (if you do Endo that they participate in your ins).

I've been on the synthroid for about four months. And despite having problems with incorrect doses and not feeling well due to other things wrong with me, I am getting better and I've lost over 25 pounds since I started. I go through times of feeling well and not, but obviously I'm starting to get better cuz my weight is getting back to where it should be (20 pounds more to get back to normal). The doctor that is treating me is just a regular doc that I found online that was supposed to be good with thyroids. And he knew A LOT more about thyroids than the thyroid specialist that I saw.
