Let me see if I got this straight: you could get entertainment rate, AAA rate, Fan rate...is that it?

Can you get a good rate on a Universal resort if you have a Universal Annual Pass?

Yes, there are also AP discounts for the resorts. You just have to ask reservations to check for all the discounts and see which one is the best (not to mention available) during your timeframe.
