All take shuttle or drop off family when using Budget?

We are on the Magic on Saturday. Trying to decide whether it would be better for all to drive to Budget to turn in car, then take shuttle to port, or if me or DH should drop off family, go to Budget office and turn in car, then take shuttle alone back to port.

I would prefer to stay together, and it would seem that there is less chance of the shuttle being extremely busy on arrival than when the ships return to port, as arrivals would seem to be more staggered. Anyone with experience in this area? Thanks!

I would suggest that you drop off the family at the terminal first, then have one person return the car to Budget and take the shuttle back to the port. That way you will only have to deal with your luggage once, when you drop it off at he curb beside the terminal, and not have to get it all out of the car, on to the shuttle, off the shuttle, etc. The rental car shuttles can also be rather busy on embarkation mornings. It will be much easier for one person with no luggage to find a seat, as opposed to a whole family and their bags.

If you don't feel like you can herd your entire family into the terminal to check-in, send a kid or two along with Dad to "keep him company."

I agree with LenDVC92 - drop the family and luggage at the port, let one person return the car and the other can get everyone checked in. The one returning the car will just need to show their ID and can get their KTTW card.

I would much prefer to stay together, and that is why I would really like to know first-hand experiences of someone who has turned in their rental at Budget and taken the shuttle to the port. It just seems that it would not be that busy going TO the port at certain times (unlike when waves of folks are getting off the ship that morning and so many ARE heading to Budget).

If people tell me that it is a nightmare and we will have to wait a long time, then that's that. If it isn't too long a wait, then I think we will take the shuttle together.

We all took the shuttle from Budget. It's simple and they drop you and your luggage exactly where you need to be. If you get dropped off by a family member then you'll have to pull your luggage to the waiting area...Mark
