I have a quick question for anyone you has recently stayed at all star sports. A friend of mine will be staying there at the end of Oct. and she was really excited until she read some stuff on another site. Perhaps some of you could help put our minds at ease it will be there family's first trip. First, are the rooms really dirty with mold and extreme wear and tear. Second, is the resort extremely loud (is there a good section to request). Third, is the bus system really slow. Thank you very much for your help or advice.

We just got back from the AS Sport. We were there July 17-22. The resort is great and great family resort. The rooms were clean. They cleaned everyday. They even waited till early afternoon to clean and bring fresh towels when were stayed in late. If you stay in the Surf area it will be a lot of noise as that is the area for the food court and the main pool. The buses were not slow. We had no problems with the bus service. Don't believe everything you read. We had a great time and the hotel was great.

Hmm...not sure if this counts as recent but we were there about 10 months ago and there was absolutely no mold or dirt in our room (and I definitely would have noticed!).
The comforters on the bed looked somewhat faded and one had been patched in a couple of places but there was no other noticeable wear and tear in the room.
There was not a problem with noise, except for some pool noise in the evenings (we were in a "preferred" room on the first floor of building 6, Surf's Up, facing the main pool). Also we had quite a bit of foot traffic by our room--we will request a higher floor next time. We felt the bus service was superb...we had a rental car but often took the bus (except to Downtown Disney--the DTD buses were always horribly packed) since the service ran so smoothly. It was great to be the first picked up and the first dropped off.

We love All Star Sports. Contemporary is my personal favorite but for the $ Sports is wonderful in my opinion. We are booked at Sports again for our upcoming trip. I have heard that it will be undergoing rehab soon so I would guess that some rooms may be showing more wear than ours did but I don't think you need to worry too much.

That's good to hear. We are going to be there Aug 28- Sept 3. I haven't heard much about ASSp so I was begining to wonder what they were like. Even though I don't plan on spending a lot of time there, I want to be comfortable. I only wish they had value rooms for families of 5. We had to get 2 rooms.(but at least we have 4 beds and 2 bathrooms)

As I will be checking in to All-Star Sports next week, I scincerely hope things turn out better than you describe. I'll post back and let you know how it went the week after next when I return.

I have stayed at Sports twice, the most recent being last October (gosh...10 months ago already!). Sports is actually our favorite of the Value resorts. Both times, our room has been very clean, and in good condition. Bus service was excellent, and we love the food court there. Hope everyone going soon has as great a time there as we did!! :flower:

We stayed there and I thought the rooms were very clean and did not look used, worn or old... I didn't seem to notice any extra noise.. I did read in a Disney Guide book that sometimes it is loud there... I didn't notice anything extra, bus service was great! Except coming back to your hotel after a MK parade/fireworks.. Although, All the lines for the other hotels looked real long too!.... :earsboy:

PS: No mold either!!! I have a allergy to mold and I would have been sneezing and my eyes would have been watering!!!!

Our family loved ASSports. The price was right, the theming was well done, the rooms were small but clean, and there were lots of happy excited kids all over the place. I would surely stay there again.

None of that is true. We love the AS Sports.

It was loud one, and one time only...and that was when all those groups of cheerleaders were in town. They were totally out of control, up late, making noise in middle of night, etc.

The bus system, we found to be one of the best on property, both coming and going.

As far as rooms, actually we find the rooms to be in the best condition of those on disney property. They really seem to keep up with linens and such (always looking pretty much new). Carpet always clean.

We stayed there in May and again in June. We did not have a noise problem. I ask for a room near the parking lot. In surf we were in Bld 6, our room was looking directly at the playground. It was nice and quiet there. In June we were in Hoops bld 2 room 2341. It was great being on the 3rd floor! So much quieter not hearing people tramping on the floor. Our room overlooked the marsh and the parking lot. It was very quiet. Those rooms facing the big basketball nets and the ones facing the football field are extremly loud with people playing ball at all hours. The pool was particularly dangerous for small kids, due to balls being thrown everywhere. The baseball pool wasn't as bad.

We were at All Star Sports for 8 nights in June and it was fine. The room was small, but clean and well maintained. Mousekeeping was good. They were painting the outside walls and floors of our building while we were there, but it was not a problem in any way.

IMO, the extra $ for the preferred rooms in Surf's up is worth it only if you want to overlook the pool, but then there may be noise issues. I saw people in the pool at 1AM. We were in TD overlooking the "football field" and had no noise issues and were closer to Stadium Hall than most of the preferred rooms.

Bus service was fine to MK, even at closing.

We will be in ASSp the end of Aug. We have prefered rooms and requested poolview. Now I am a bit concerned about the noise. My husband has bad knees so I was hoping for ground level but know was wondering if we got our rooms on the second floor. We have guarrenteed connecting rooms due to the ages of our kids (3DS 11, 13, and 14) Any thoughts on this.

Each building has elevators, so step climbing won't be an issue.

I haven't had a pool view room, so I have no personal knowlege. I do think that there will be some pool noise if it is crowded.
