I am planning a trip for 2008. My husband and son want to stay at ASSP. I have read some bad reviews in the past, but I have heard they have done some renovating there. Could folks that have stayed there recently please give me your opinion. Thanks

I am staying at Sports in a couple of weeks. At first i was not thrilled because i thought the rooms looked run down... but apparently they have all been renovated and look fabulous now! There are some other people who have been there recently who have posted pictures im sure they will be able to help more

I just got back from a stay at All Star Sports last week. I had stayed there pre-renovations back in Jan 2007. It was just fine back in January, but it was WONDERFUL this trip! I was upgraded to a preferred room in the Surf's Up section at no charge. We had a renovated room and it was fantastic! :thumbsup2 The new bedspreads, carpet, paint, and furniture really spruced the place up. For the amount of time that we spend in the room, All Star Sports is an amazing value. The buses are wonderful and plentiful. On the way back, we're always the first of the All-Stars to get dropped off. I never had to share a bus on the way out from the resort.

I'll be staying at Pop Century this coming January (a friend prefers it to the All-Stars since it's newer, but she hasn't been to the All-Stars since the renovations). I'm a little nervous about how crowded the food court and the bus stops will be there since it is essentially the same as combining all the All-Star Resorts (Movies, Music, Sports) together and having one centralized main building/bus stop. Maybe (hopefully) I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I would definitely go back to All Star Sports in a heartbeat. Hope this helps!

I guess it all depends on your particular taste.

Our first stay at the All Star Sports was in January of 2003, and our most recent visit was last Christmas. BOTH times, we thought that the resort was excellent, and we did not feel that it was "rundown" at any time.

We've also stayed at POP, CSR, and CBR. We love CSR the most, but can't always afford a moderate.

This year, we have chosen the All-Star Movies. We have enjoyed every stay on Disney property, but liked our stay at the POP Century the least. Now, I didn't say we hated POP, I'm just saying that it is the least of our favorites. Too loud, too crowded, and the walls are too thin! So, when it was time to make a reservation at a Value for next March, we decided to visit an All Star. We chose movies because we haven't stayed there before.

It is true that the moderates are better than the values (that's why they cost more). But, I'd take any Disney value resort over staying off-property ANY day of the week.

All Star Sports is a great little resort. It isn't that big, but has just about anything you would want. It is much quieter than POP (unless there is a cheerleading convention), and is a fun place. Don't worry, you will have a wonderful time.

I only hope that we enjoy ASmovies as much as we enjoy sports.

Thanks for the responses...sounds like ASSP will be a good choice. I stayed at ASMO in 2006 and we loved it. Have fun on your trip in March.
