We've stayed there twice and really enjoyed it. One time we were in the basketball section, which was OK. It was close to a parking lot, and since we drove from MA, it was handy for us. But it wasn't as convenient for the pool, food court, bus stop.
The second time we were in the football section and it was PERFECT!
It wasn't a preferred building, no xtra $$. But, we were very close to the food court and main pool, and bus stop. Not far from the quiet pool either, which was in the baseball section.
Another good thing about AS Sports: it is the 1st pick up & drop off on the All Stars bus runs! All 3 All Star resorts share busses. It meant a much shorter and seated bus ride compared to music or movies.
Food court, check-in area, etc were all clean and spacious. Check in lines moved well, even arriving on Thanksgiving weekend! Tons of efficient friendly CM's, full of knowledge, are there to get the magic started.
Rooms were functional, standard motel-type rooms. For your family, you should be fine. Our 2nd trip there, we had my brother with us in our room, plus DH, myself, and our sons then age 4 & 2 (2 yr old in the Pack & play). It was a bit tight that time. BUT, the crib thing took up more space than you would've thought, and my brother can really spread out, lol!

Our 1st trip there, we 4 were very comfy!
Our family really enjoyed, hope you do too. Happy to help with more questions if needed!
