I am a dvc member and have only stayed at dvc resorts but booked for first time at a ALl Star Movies. So looking for some tips and info. Tell me about the all star resorts which is best, what do u like and not like? We drive to resorts so busing isnt an issue for us but otherwise would like to hear from all start experts and all star haters to get a good game plan. Thanks

We just stayed at ASMovies and really like it for it being a "value" resort, and for just being there for 2 nights. The theming was great...we had a preferred room at the Toy Story section. Short walk to food court and pool. Loved the huge Woody and Buzz even the concrete was stamped to look like wood floors. With that being said, the rooms are very small compared to the DVC properties. It is a little bit noisier with the rooms having exterior and a little bit closer together so sounds do echo.

Pros: $ great theming, now have refrigerators and privacy curtains
Cons: No pool towels, have to bring towels from room. No slides or zero entry...small rooms with small counter space

I have only stayed at value resorts. I love the theming. I feel the disney magic! I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Yes, the rooms are small but they are clean and cute! The food courts have good food too!

All ASR are pretty much the same. The only difference is the theme. Movies.. Sports.. and Music. I prefer Movies.. It's screams more Disney. My favorite bldg is the Toy Story and 101 Dalmation.

We are doing a girls only trip this Oct and we are going to stay at the ASMovies this time. We are DVC also but I think the 2 10yr olds are going to love this resort, it's SO Disney. I want to be over in Dalmations as close to Mighty Ducks as we can get because I actually want to use the food court at Music. The food options look better there and we will probably catch the bus from there too.

I am not so worried about the pool because we are going to have the waterpark option and will be hitting those up. I will be hoping for pool activities a few nights, movies and games for the kids. My dd really enjoyed the pool activites at OKW last year and I am hoping AsM will have something like that.

They are all essentially the same, but I prefer the Movies theme the best. It seems the most "Disney". Plus, it was the most recently rennovated so that tips the scales in its favor as well. :)

Just stayed at ASMo last week for the first time (have always stayed Deluxe in the past). For the price, we were very happy, although my heart still belongs to the Poly.

The biggest differences for us were the small rooms and small bathroom area. But since it was just the 2 of us, it really wasn't an issue. I couldn't imagine spending several nights there with 4 adults (or 2 adults, 2 teens). My biggest issue? The bedding!! I thought the sheets and pillowcases were very ROUGH and stiff, I don't remember ever feeling that way at AKL or Poly. However, it could have just been the way they were washed. And it bothered me as much the last night as it did the first.

It was VERY nice having a small fridge to keep our drinks cold, so glad they added them a few weeks ago.

We never experienced crowds in the food court or pool. Although the last night we noticed a definate increase in people around the resort. We were grateful for our room location (Love Bug). I would hate to stay in Fantasia facing the pool area. There was a lot of noise & activity in the evenings.

We would definately stay there again.

We are definite fans of the All Stars. We've tried them all and as a previous poster stated, they are all fairly similar, just with a different theme. We prefer Music, as the landscaping is a little more lush. Movies comes in at a close second for me, but mostly for sentimental reasons and because I prefer the film icons over the sport icons. All the food courts have had good food. From the front desk, to the food court, to the mousekeeping, the CMs have been wonderful.

The rooms have been updated within the last few years. I'm really excited about having a fridge the next time we go. They are just the right size for being there to rest up for another day out at the parks. They have movies by the main pool every night at all three of the All Stars and daily activities for the kids.
