All star resort or Swan hotel?

Swan has the deluxe after hours, which are well worth it to me. That late, empty park is why I come to Disney.

Being able to walk across the bridge after the Epcot fireworks is so much better than a stinking, standing room All Stars bus full of kids. To me, that's "Disney feel." Take the BC or BW bus to get to the other parks, easy.

IMO, Marriott is a much, much better hotelier compared to high-end Disney, no contest against low-end Disney. All Stars is LOUD and crowded with kids, Marriott will be a more civilized experience. Depending on how long you are staying, this could be a significant issue.

Hi everyone ,

As per title I have seen that I can book a stay at the swan hotel for around £600 more than if I stayed at an all star this is including the resort fee. I stayed at the dolphin a couple of years ago and did not enjoy it that much due to not having the Disney feel and customer service not being the best. but I loved being on the boardwalk and walking to the two parks as I visit HS the most,I am open to give it another try. Though being dropped off at the ttc and having to use other Disney resort buses to miss that is slightly off putting. Do you think it is still worth me upgrading?

Any advice is appreciated!
See this is hard for us as well. In some ways it sounds crazy to choose a value over Swan/Dolphin however we had the same non Disney feel when we stayed there a few yrs ago and decided we'd probably just prefer to stay at a Disney value. Could you move to pop so you have the ease of the skyliner to get to the Boardwalk area? It'll be more than All Stars, but shouldn't be more than Swan Dolphin. The other thing not to forget is that swan/dolphin no longer use Disney buses which was certainly a bummer and inconvenient while we were there.

Several years ago, I thought the Swan would be great because of the location--and the location is great--but I absolutely hated it there and fled to a WDW hotel that, luckily for me, still had AP rates available.

That being said, I'm not in love with the All Stars, either. But I had a not-great experience at ASMu--the room-to-room noise was unbearable to me--so I'd never go back.

Have you considered POFQ? That's my favorite Moderate, it's a wonderful property, the newly renovated rooms are beautiful, the boat ride to DS is great, and they only extremely rarely share buses. The bus ride from FQ to Epcot and DHS is less than 10 minutes long--so although you can't walk to those parks from FQ, the wait for a bus is never long and the ride itself is short.

Just thought I'd throw this option out there.

ETA: I posted this before I saw the OP had made their decision.

Am glad I’m not the only one who feels this way! I know it sounds strange as it’s basically on Disney property but it just didn’t sit right with me and didn’t actually feel like I was at Disney. I have looked at Pop but it’s going to be under room refurbishment when I go and was kinda put off. It was going to be my main choice.

Thanks, I have had a look at Pofq but unfortunately it’s a little bit more expensive than I’d like. Have heard great things about the resort though.
